3 Milwaukee park beer gardens will soon be open as Whitnall Beer Garden plans to open Wednesday

A Milwaukee summer is coming into view as another county beer garden plans to open Wednesday.

Whitnall Beer Garden, 8831 N. Root River Parkway, Greendale, is tapping its first keg of the season at 4 p.m. May 1. Following an opening ceremony at 5 p.m., free beer and root beer will be available while supplies last.

The beer garden will have 24 craft beer options, most of which are from local breweries.

The season will include taco Tuesdays, fish fry dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays, and pig roast days on June 9, June 16, July 7 and August 18.

Live music will be at the park Friday nights, Saturday afternoons and during each pig roast Sunday.

Whitnall Beer Garden will be open 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The opening comes one month after South Shore Beer Garden opened its tap lines on April 3 and less than a week after Estabrook Beer Garden opened on April 26. The county's traveling beer garden and other parks' beer gardens plan to open in the coming weeks.
