3 Genius Things This Flight Attendant Never Travels Without

“I have flown on over 1200 flights, so I’ve learned a few things and these are my absolute essentials,” says New York-based American Airlines flight attendant Stella Lozano.

Shampoo and Conditioner Bars

One of the most common reasons people get held up at security is that they forget about the 3.4-ounce liquid regulations for carry-ons, and end up having to throw out their toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner bars (like this cinnamon-scented winner by Lush) are great because they look like soap, says Stella. This way you don’t have to worry about following the liquid restrictions of the airline or worry about shampoo spilling in your luggage.

Tea Bags and Oatmeal

We all know airports charge an inflated amount of money for snacks and drinks (bottled water is like $7!) but they won’t charge for a cup of hot water. Tea and oatmeal are small things to pack and all you have to do is add hot water for a quick snack and a cup of tea, for free!

Noise Cancelling Headphones

If there are kids crying, or people talking, these will be your best friend. You can listen to music or a movie, or just put them on and go to sleep. Stella showed off the Paww WaveSound 3 Bluetooth Headphones, which fold for easy storing and come with an auxiliary cable for airplane movie-viewing, on the show.
