This 3-D Dinner Series Was a Hit in Los Angeles — and Now It's Traveling Across the U.S.
Dinner just got a whole lot more interesting.

TableMation Studios is taking dinner with a show to a whole new level.
The company, which creates 3D and immersive dining experiences, premiered at the SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in Beverly Hills in November to rave reviews thanks to its unique blend of art, music, technology, and, of course, delicious food. And now, the team is taking its over-the-top meal on the road, introducing a four-course interactive experience at upscale venues across the country. And it’s doing so with a brand-new show, “Nya & Ned Save The World,” premiering in Northern California at Napa's Culinary Institute of America at Copia and The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, and in Texas at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin.
“It’s an honor to bring our new 3D culinary experience to luxury venues around the world,” Michael Bickel, president and CEO of TableMation Studios, said in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. “We were at the forefront of tech-driven, immersive dining seven years ago when we introduced the original concept for an animated dining experience. We are excited to premiere our newest show, ‘Nya & Ned Save the World.’ It's fun and whimsical, pairing perfectly with the four courses to create a unique Instagrammable night out for guests.”

According to the company’s statement, its latest show took its team of artists — which includes several animation studios, Hollywood writers, and Oscar-performing musicians — more than 50,000 hours to create.
The show is created using state-of-the-art laser projectors that create 4K high-resolution visuals that spread across the table, so every guest has a front-row seat. The visuals are paired with original music scores as well as character dialog to keep things lively.
The visual spectacular follows the story of “Chef Nya and Ned as they prepare to conduct a cooking class before their plans are ruined by a nefarious Dr. Animator,” the statement explained. “The two heroes escort guests on a wild adventure around the world, concluding in a thrilling climax at the Eiffel Tower.”
As the show progresses, so too do the dishes, which come with ingredients meant to mimic what guests are watching on the projection, making it feel like they are truly a part of the story.
