This New $3.59 ALDI Find Is My Favorite—It's Delicious

It comes in four equally delicious flavors.

I’ve been buying goat cheese at ALDI for years. It’s fresh and flavorful, and it even freezes well. Though I most often buy the four-ounce logs of plain, honey, or garlic and herb, I sometimes grab the cranberry cinnamon or blueberry logs, which are rolled in dried fruit, to add a touch of color to a cheese plate.

That’s why I was SO excited to see ALDI’s new line of summer goat cheese flavors made by Emporium Selection: hot honey, spring garden, double cream Amarena cherry, and mango chili.

The only flavor I remember from previous summers is the double cream Amerena cherry. Each six-ounce log sells for just $3.59. The main reason to buy them is that they are absolutely delectable. It’s impossible for me to pick a favorite flavor.

What I Love About ALDI's New Goat Cheese Flavors

First, they’re visually impressive. The mango chili is rubbed with dark red chili pepper on the outside; the Amarena cherry is a pretty pink color and studded with little cherry bits; the hot honey is light orange; and the spring garden is filled with green herbs and a few dried red bell pepper flakes.

These cheeses would add a pop of color to any cheese plate, but also to sandwiches and spreads.

How I Plan To Use ALDI's New Goat Cheese Flavors

The mango chili goat cheese is hot and sweet, flavors that contrast nicely with the cool, creamy goat cheese. I am definitely going to use this flavor in a layered taco dip this summer, and I could also see this added to tacos and stuffed inside enchiladas.

The hot honey is also spicy and sweet but not quite as hot as the mango chili. It would be a great addition to chicken and waffles, and a perfect filling for small tomatoes as a fancy-ish appetizer.

The double cream Amarena cherry goat cheese is like dessert. Rich and so, so creamy, it makes me swoon.

Besides just spooning it straight into my mouth, I think it would be perfect for cheesecake, as a spread for sugar or butter cookies, or added to cream cheese frosting. It would also taste great in chocolate cups, especially with a drizzle of chocolate and additional dried cherries.

The spring garden goat cheese is chock full of garlic, onion, tomato, green and red bell pepper, carrot, and spinach. It tastes amazing as a sandwich spread, and it would be a great addition to spinach dip. I also want to try it baked with tomato sauce for an easy appetizer.

My husband likes to keep things simple, spreading any of the flavors on crackers for a snack in the evening. He’s a big fan of the mango chili because he loves the heat. As for me, I’d take any of them. They’re all equally delicious.
