“Art-inspired design meets contemporary architecture at this sublime island retreat,” is how listing agency Smith Spencer Real Estate of Charleston described it.

The 3,248-square-foot house on two floors features soaring ceilings and huge windows with a contemporary flair. The downstairs is open — kitchen and eating area blend into the sitting area that features a fireplace at one end.

But it is the outside that stuns.

“The surrounding gardens offer a one-of-a-kind private oasis,” the real estate company said.

There are meditation spaces, a fire pit and a heated saltwater cocktail pool, which is a cross between spa and pool, usually no deeper than 4 feet.

The landscaping can only be described as lush with bamboo, olive trees, and Star Jasmine surrounding an entertainment area.

The kitchen, eating area and living room are open concept.

There’s an outdoor bar, a poolside dressing room and large heated and cooled storage space.

Built in 2021, the house has a history of short-term rentals, which Folly allows for as many as 72 nights a year. During the summer, the house rents for $2,000 per night or more, the agency said.

The house was sold under a contingency contract within days of it being listed last year, listed again in June 2023, removed in October and then relisted March 31.

“Ohana House offers those who appreciate beautiful design a private retreat where friends and family have direct access to everything that makes this laid back and comfortable beach enclave so special,” Smith Spencer said on the listing.
