The Hollywood Reporter dropped the exclusive that Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are teaming up once more for a new sequel to 28 Days Later.

The new zombie thriller will hit the market for potential buyers later this week. WME, who represents both Boyle and Garland, will handle the package deal as it's shopped around to studios and streamers.

Reportedly, the plan is not just to make a new sequel but to launch a new trilogy with Boyle attached to direct the first installment. Garland would write all three, and the budget for each film would be approximately $75 million.

Producer of 28 Days Later, Andrew Macdonald, will also be involved, with Garland and Boyle co-producing alongside him.

The original film starred Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris and Christopher Eccleston and was set four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, and a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary.
