Lightning Storm
Sparks will fly when this storm cloud runs into a wired tie, tattered dress shirt, and umbrella.
Storm Cloud: With a hot-glue gun, attach polyester stuffing to a white baseball cap to form a cloud. (Layer and glue stuffing in small sections to ensure it is attached securely.) Hot-glue silver streamers under hat brim. Wear hat sideways. Use our lightning bolt template on gold glitter craft paper and cut out with scissors. Glue larger lightning bolt to a pair of sunglasses (angle away from face so there's space for nose). Poke a hole at top center of each smaller lightning bolt with a safety pin and insert earring hooks (available at craft stores). Cut an oval from white felt, hot-glue stuffing on top, then secure to shirt with hot glue.
Struck By Lightning: To make jagged holes in an old dress shirt, pinch and twist small sections of the fabric and cut with scissors. Color around edges with charcoal drawing sticks (available at craft stores); spray with hairspray to prevent smudging. Tie a Windsor knot in a necktie (so it is adjustable). Run 2 pieces of 12-gauge wire through back of tie; tape in place with black duct tape, then adjust and bend as desired. Open an old umbrella and cut holes and slashes with scissors.
Paper and Pencil
Fabric markers transform a plain white t-shirt into a loose-leaf sheet of paper, while these pencil hat and collar templates can make a writing instrument out of a red dress.
