Paulie Calafiore is now living in his truth!
Paulie Calafiore started his reality TV career on Big Brother 18, where he finished in eighth place and was one of the jury members of the season. Altogether, Calafiore was a BB18 competition beast who won two Head of Household (HOH) comps and three Power of Veto (POV) comps.
That impressive Big Brother track record led Calafiore to compete on different editions of The Challenge over the years. Namely, he finished in third place on season 32 (Final Reckoning), ninth place on season 33 (War of the Worlds), and was a finalist on season 34 (War of the Worlds 2). A few years later, he returned to compete in the second season of CBS’ The Challenge: USA spinoff. Unfortunately, this time, Calafiore went home in the third episode.
Nonetheless, Calafiore got to open up during his time on The Challenge: USA and came out as bisexual. He then made this announcement on social media and in different interviews. He wrote on Instagram:
“So many emotions right now I haven’t even had a chance to process. My heart is bleeding with gratitude. My soul is burning with humility. I’m so sad I had an early exit but I am so happy that I was able show you another layer to myself and my journey. To all the new friendships I’ve made, to all the old friendships repaired. I love all of you and I can’t wait to show you how much stronger I come back. The support is so beautiful. I want to thank The Challenge for believing in my return.”
Calafiore also issued a special thank-you to Frankie Grande (Big Brother 16) and Shaun T (Insanity), two queer men who helped him over the years as he came to terms with his sexual orientation.
