23 Jokes About That Incredible NASA Space Photo, Because We Can't Take Anything Seriously
You may already know that NASA's new James Webb telescope released its first images today, among them this gorgeous photo showing a tiny piece of the night sky that's chock-full of galaxies. The astounding thing — besides the sheer number of galaxies in one small area of the sky — is that the telescope's capabilities are allowing us to see galaxies that are billions of light-years away, meaning we're seeing them as they were billions of years ago.
Space is lovely, dark and deep. You're looking at the deepest infrared image of the universe ever taken—the first full-color image from @NASAWebb. Go deeper on the galaxies of SMACS 0723 at https://t.co/63zxpNDi4I #UnfoldTheUniverse
Of course, this is Twitter, so despite the incredible technical achievement and the breathtaking beauty of the image, people had jokes.
