22 Super Unnecessary Sex Scenes And Nude Shots That Honestly Pulled People Out Of The Movie Or TV Show
Look, sex is often an important part of a relationship, and it makes sense to have a sex scene in a romance movie or sex comedy, or in cases where it advances the plot or central relationship.

But...sometimes sex scenes and nudity just seem completely random and shoehorned in.* Last week, Reddit user u/Jfowl6665 asked about movie sex scenes that were just 100% unnecessary...and there were a LOT. Here are some of the most nonsensical sex and nude scenes!
*I.e., it feels unnecessary or even nonsensical to the plot, feels exploitative of the actors involved, seems added just to include in the trailer and attract viewers, or just overall is tonally off.
1.In Kingsman: The Secret Service, when the princess proposed anal sex if Eggsy saved the world:

2.In Under Siege, when a Playboy model randomly showed up to burst out of a giant cake and strip in the middle of a tense scene:
"It was very, very important to the plot that Erika Eleniak popped out of that cake in Under Siege.”
3.In Ghostbusters, when a ghost gave Ray a blowjob:

4.In The Chase, when Charlie Sheen's character had sex while he was driving in a high-speed car chase:
"It's worse than it sounds."
"By the time they were done, it was like five-plus hours had passed. Daytime to night. Also there were many news networks and police with cameras on the car. Not one of them saw her climb on top of him and start going at it? I was a 14-year-old boy watching it and couldn't understand why they would put that scene in."

"Cage has a sex scene midway through the movie. He doesn't take any of his clothes off as this waitress rides him. Then a gun fight breaks out. Rather than, ya know, anything else: The sex continues with Cage swinging the woman from side to side, and he fires his gun around her at the attackers. It was absolutely unnecessary, but hilariously dumb."
6.In Shark Attack 3, when there was this incredibly bad piece of dialogue followed by a sex scene:

7.In Watchmen, when Nite Owl and Laurie had a loooong sex scene to a cover of 'Hallelujah':
"My first one that pops into my mind is Watchmen. ... That owl-ship sex scene goes on forever and has 'Hallelujah' playing while it's happening with a fucking chorus later."
"That was definitely one of the dumbest scenes in that movie, if not the actual dumbest scene. It's so bad that I recently rewatched that movie, and I either walked out of the room during that part, or I completely mentally blocked it out, because I didn't remember it existing until I read this comment. One criticism I have of Watchmen was their music being so on the nose, and being way too made up of hit songs that it ends up making me roll my eyes and takes me out of the film."
8.And also the Dr. Manhattan sex scene, which then showed Dr. Manhattan nude:

9.In Return of the Living Dead, when one character randomly takes off her shirt:

10.The sex scene at the beginning of 300:

12.In Eternals, when Ikaris and Sersi had sex:

13.In Batman: The Killing Joke, when Batgirl and Batman randomly had sex:
"Bruce Timm added in a rooftop sex scene between Batman and Batgirl. It was not in the original comic and frankly crosses a number of lines of age, the fact that she is his 'son's' girlfriend, the fact that he is her mentor, etc. Just no."
14.On Supernatural, when Dean and Cassie had a really drawn-out sex scene in Season 1:
"My partner and I are watching Supernatural for the first time, and in the early episodes, Dean finds an old flame. They have an extremely long, drawn-out, poorly acted sex scene that felt insanely out of place and forced. [They] could have had them just kiss, or smile and go into a room. No, I have to watch him actively hump her for more than a minute."
15.Just every sex scene in The Room:
"There’s only one answer for this, and that answer is The Room. And there were multiple sex scenes."
16.The gratuitous threesome scene in The Mule:
"The Mule had Clint Eastwood as a florist turned drug mule in a gleeful threesome with two giggling girls that could be his granddaughters. Twice. OK, Clint."
17.In Stargate SG-1, when there was a nude scene in the pilot:
"The pilot episode for Stargate SG-1. The producers didn't want to have to worry about complaints for content, so they included a full frontal nudity scene in the pilot episode that was completely unnecessary (and in fact some later releases cut it out). There is never full frontal nudity anywhere else in the entire series, and only suggested nudity a handful of times. The scene was only there as a way to set a bar so no one could complain about any future content."
18.And when The OA had a sex scene in their first episode:
