The 22 Best Beauty Looks From the 2023 Met Gala
Who was the most committed to their beauty look at the 2023 Met Gala? Was it Doja Cat, who wore a cat snout facial prosthetic? How about Lil Nas X, who adorned his entire body and face in crystals (a very Doja Cat move, we might add)? Or, perhaps it was Florence Pugh, who shaved her whole damn head for the occasion — and then topped her new buzz cut with a massively tall feathered headpiece.
Suffice it to say, guests went all in with their hair and makeup looks as they gathered on the first Monday in May to celebrate the work and legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, the subject of this year's Costume Institute exhibit. The evening's stand-out beauty moments included sculptural updos (see: Quinta Brunson, Janelle Monáe, FKA Twigs); beautiful hair accessories (on Sienna Miller, Jennie Kim, Sydney Sweeney, Emma Chamberlain); inventive use of color (like Elizabeth Grace and Suki Waterhouse) and, of course, the full-on wonderfully weird (i.e. the aforementioned extra-catty Doja Cat).
