20th annual Earth Day celebration presented by Appalachian South Folklife Center and RiffRaff Arts Collective

PIPESTEM, WV (WVNS) — The 20th annual Earth Day Celebration hosted by the Appalachian South Folklife Center will be on April 20, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M in Pipestem.

$150 million approved for new school renovations in 18 counties

This event has been going on for 50 plus years, and will have a full day of live music and art, crafts, activities for kids, workshops, yoga, presentations, and other creative activities and fun.

The day will be presented by the RiffRaff Arts Collective and will have musical performances by Option 22, Shayar, Adam Cox, James Hart & Old Soul Reunion, Tim & Maggie, Jordan Furrow, Kimberly Moon, Student Sesiu, and Jon Bolt.

There will also be a learning session with Appalachian Rekindling Project (Rematriate, Return, Restore), and the Dancing Nettle Nursery will be doing a pollinator plants discussion for people to learn. Practitioners from the Gaia Den will be conducting reiki, sound healing, yoga, and offering massages. Activities for children include tie-dying and other crafts with Jillian Firth.

Food and drink will also be offered at this event. It will primarily be served by Jamaica Wi Hungry, who will be having their business in the Grassroots District in Princeton coming soon.
