2024 Easter Egg hunts, children's events around Salem and Keizer

Easter is coming up on Sunday.

Here are Easter egg hunts and related children's events happening around the Mid-Valley this weekend.

Friday, March 29

Free Church: Free Church in downtown Salem is hosting an evening event with an Easter egg hunt, crafts, snacks and a live worship band. The event starts at 6 p.m. and the children's program is meant for those ages 3 months to 10 years old. 210 Liberty St. SE.

Saturday, March 30

Gateway Foursquare Church: The church is hosting two Easter egg hunts, for littles (up to 5 years old) and elementary ages (6 to 10). The littles egg hunt will be 10:30-11 a.m., and elementary ages from 11:15-11:45 a.m. 525 Idylwood Drive SE.

KROC Center: The KROC Center is offering multiple sessions of an underwater Easter egg hunt for three age groups, age 4 and younger, 5 to 8 years old and 9 to 12 years old. To sign up, go to the KROC Center event webpage and register, as each session is only open to 50 children. Half-hour sessions will begin at 10:45 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. 1865 Bill Frey Drive, Salem

Morning Star Community Church: The church is hosting an Easter egg hunt with areas divided for children up to fifth grade. Inside the eggs will be candy and non-food prizes. The hunt will begin at 10 a.m. with staggered starts for age groups. Kids through 3 years old will start at 10 a.m., 4-6 year olds start at 10:10 a.m. and first to fifth graders start at 10:20 a.m. If the event gets rained on, it will move indoors. 4775 27th Ave. SE.

Oak Park Church of God: The church is hosting an Easter egg hunt for three age groups, 3 and under, 4-7 and 8 and up. The egg hunt will begin at 10:30 a.m. If it rains, the hunt will be moved into the church's gym. 2990 Lancaster Drive NE.

Our Savior's Lutheran Church: The church is offering a free community egg hunt and party including games, crafts and pictures with the bunny. The event will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. 1770 Baxter Road SE.

The River Church: The church is holding an Easter festival at Salem Riverfront Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free festival will have multiple giveaways of toys, gifts and more for children and adults. To participate in the giveaways, you can register on the event webpage. There will also be an egg hunt and more activities for kids. The egg hunt is divided into four age categories, age 1 to 4 with one parent, ages 5 to 8, ages 9 to 12 and children with disabilities ages 5 to 18 with support person or parent. The church recommends folks bring their own lawn chairs and egg hunt containers. 200 Water St NE.

Salem Center: Salem Center is offering an Easter egg hunt and bunny photos for little and big kids. Big kids, ages 6-12, will have their Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to noon in the upper north building's common area. The little kids, ages 1 to 5, will have their Easter egg hunt from noon until 1:30 p.m., when the event ends. The Easter bunny photo session will be held across from Claire's, near the food court, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 401 Center St. NE.

Salem First Church of the Nazarene: The Salem First Church of the Nazarene is offering a family event including skits, games with prizes, music and candy goody bags instead of an egg hunt. A hot dog lunch will be provided. The event will begin at 10 a.m. 1550 Market St. NE.

Skyline Baptist Church: The church is hosting its annual Family Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. There will also be games, crafts and storytime. 4787 Skyline Road S.

Sunnyslope Christian Reformed Church: The church is hosting an Easter egg hunt and lunch at Wendy Kroger Park, 200 Arlene Ave. SE in Salem. The egg hunt will be held in the park at 11 a.m., and lunch will be held after the hunt at the church. 197 Hrubetz Road SE.
