You'll Forget You Have These Wireless Bras OnJohn Francis

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

Let’s be real. Strapping on a bra is among the most sigh-worthy daily tasks (I mean, they do kinda have a bad reputation for being uncomfortable). But have you ever given a wireless bra a shot? Trust me, they're a total game changer when it comes to keeping the girls perky while still keeping comfort front and center.

A wireless bra can give you the barely-there feel every woman craves, while still keeping your breasts lifted and in place. "They're a happy medium for ladies who aren’t quite ready to free boob it, but still want some comfort," says Laura Tempesta, bra writer and founder of Bravolution, an online site that reviews the best sports bras.

While they have a reputation for being less supportive for people with large, saggy breasts, there are ways to work around that, says Amelia Newman, intimates technical designer at Adore Me. "Absolutely anyone can wear a wireless bra if they feel comfortable and confident," she explains.

So, if you're ready to join the club, look no further. It's time to put one boob in front of the other (or shall I say perfectly spread next to each other), and check out this list of the 10 best wireless bras. The editors at Women's Health have evaluated every style on this list, from push-up bras to the best bras for small busts, and put them to the test with help from experts of all different bust sizes and needs. BTW, you can shop many of them on Amazon.

Support Lift Scoop Bralette

I'd say most bra-wearers have the goal of being braless—or at least feeling like they are—which is why this number by Parade comes in handy. Our testers say Parade's supportive scoop neck bralette is so comfortable you'll forget you have it on. To add some lift, the bra is designed with wider straps that help it hold your breasts in place more easily.

We also love that this bra is sustainably-made with recycled materials and has a minimal carbon footprint.

"It was my first time trying Parade and I’M IN LOVE with this brand," says our tester. "The products are super comfortable, fit really well on my body, and are beautiful." She adds that this bralette feels like she's wearing nothing at all, but it still holds everything in place.

One caveat, though: Testers say it stretches out after many uses. That may or may not be a good thing, depending on how snug you like your fit to be.

Free Cut Micro Tall Triangle Bralette

"If I had to choose one bra to wear for the rest of my life, it would be this one," says WH associate fashion and commerce editor Lily Wohlner. "While it's definitely a bit pricey for one bra, it's the softest one I've ever worn," she says, adding that this feature alone makes the hefty price worth it.

Some bras can make your boobs pop out in certain places or make them look bigger than they actually are. But this one from Cosabella holds the girls right in place and keeps them comfortable and snug all day long. Thanks to their tall triangle, non-padded cups they offer full coverage without accentuating the apperance of your boobs. "IMO, it actually makes my boobs look smaller because there's no bulky wire or padding," says Wohlner.

"I literally have nothing bad to say about this bra," she adds. "I recently went on vacation and wore it every night because it really does work with any outfit."

Fits Everyone Scoop Neck Bra

As a personal fan of this bra, our tester, WH associate fashion and commerce editor Lily Wohlner, says she can attest to the fact that this Skims bra is an everyday go-to because of how soft and comfortable it is. It leans more towards the stretchy side, but the straps are adjustable, which helps to keep the tatas in place. It runs a bit small, so if you have a larger bust, it's best to size up.

"I wear this bra at least three times a week because of how comfortable it is," says Wohlner. "It doesn't give you that dreaded uniboob look—it actually makes the girls look perky and held in place, despite the fact that it doesn't have cups." Whether she's wearing a sweater or a sweatshirt, Wohlner says this bra always comes in handy when she wants to be comfortable without looking like she's wearing her "lazy girl bra."

Another note to keep in mind: The fabric is a bit thin, so don't be surprised if your nipples poke through the bra. There's also no back clasp, so you can't adjust the band fit if you want it a bit more snug.

Medium Impact Padded Bra

If you're looking for a bra you can occasionally work out in, this one keeps boob bounce to a minimum and checks many of Tempesta's boxes for a supportive wireless bra, even if you have a fuller bust. It has a thick, sturdy band and straps that will keep things from moving around too much. Plus, you can opt for two versions of the bra—one made for medium-impact activity, and the other for high-impact movement.

That being said, our testers say to size down as the cup and band size seem to run big. Once you find the perfect sizing, they also say you don't have to worry about any dreaded uniboob. The structure of this bra will round out and lift your breasts.

"It fits perfectly and holds my very heavy breasts in without making them into a uniboob," wrote one of the testers. Those with smaller breasts should seek other options, though, as this bra is specifically made for busts 36C and up.

Shaping Wireless Bra

With over 14,000 five-star reviews on Amazon, Bali Bras are a fan-favorite for a reason—they are known for being comfortable for both small and larger-chested ladies without breaking the bank. The wireless bra is made with four-way stretch fabric, which keeps it from feeling too snug, and special knit-in zones that offer targeted support. It's also made with light padding, which testers say is "just enough" to keep their nipples from peeking through.

"I measured myself to assure that I was ordering my right size, which is 40DD," says one of our testers. "I love this bra. It feels like a sports bra, but has shape—no uni-boob." They add that it's also super comfortable because it feels like you're not even wearing a bra.

One caveat our testers say to be weary of is that the bra is so stretchy that the bottom band has a tendency to curl up. It can be annoying to flatten it out throughout the day, so it's something to take into consideration.

Foam Comfortflex Fit Bra

If your boobs tend to get sweaty no matter how cold it is outside, this bra may be a great option for you. It's designed with a little mesh cutout between the breasts to provide much-needed airflow to the girls. As a Hanes product, you can also expect it to be super comfortable as the brand is known for its cozy soft fabric.

Another top-rated option, this bra has over 22,000 five-star reviews on Amazon from people who say it's lightweight, durable, and supportive. It packs a seriously barely-there feel. In fact, one tester said it feels like air.

"I've bought three of these bras because they've turned out to be my favorite bra ever," says a tester, whose a size 38D. "I bought a large and it fit perfect. My favorite part is the mesh in the front and band."

Reviewers say the padding in the cup area tends to roll a bit, so that's something to keep in mind if you're planning to get a lot of movement in while wearing this bra.

Easy Does It Wireless Bra

Just so ya know—side-boob is totally normal. But if you want a bra that smooths it out under your clothes, this Warner's bra is it. Thanks to its side-smoothing panels, it has a lifting effect to give your breasts that perfectly round shape under your tops. It's built with light padding that doesn't shift around, and the straps are a little wider for added support and lift.

"This holds my side-boob and my front overload in," says one of our testers, who loves this bra. "It looks great under T-Shirts and it's so comfortable—it feels like I don't even have anything on."

Unfortunately, testers found that the bottom band rolls up with excessive movement, which is something you should consider if you're looking for an everyday bra. Still, customers seem to agree the bra is a great quality buy at a semi-affordable price.

True Body V-Neck Bra

Tempesta is a fan of True & Co.'s V-neck bra for its smooth fit and seamless silhouette. It shows no bra lines underneath your T-shirt, which is always a plus if you prefer the barely-there look and feel.

WH lifestyle and commerce editor Jasmine Gomez is also a huge fan of True & Co.'s v-neck bra. "As a larger-busted lady, comfy and supportive wireless bras are few and far between," she says. "This bra doesn't only keep my boobs in place during light walks and lounging sessions, but it truly makes me feel like I'm in no rush to take it off—a rarity."

The only thing to note is that the bra isn't supportive for medium or high-impact activity. So, don't plan on wearing this one to a workout sesh.

One Fab Fit Wireless Demi Bra

Those who have thrown on a pair of Maidenform leggings know how flattering and comfy their products are built. And this Maidenform demi bra, which has low cups and covers a smaller part of your chest, is no different. It lifts and shapes your breasts using a light but snug lining that won't irritate your boobs.

Our testers say this is a good option even if you're smaller-busted. But, they also say it tends to run small, so it may be better to size up if you're bigger busted.

The bra is designed with molded cups, so if it's too large for you, there may be some unsightly gapping between your breasts. For the price, it's a good find, but it's not the most adjustable—again, it all comes down to finding the right sizing.

Sieve Non-Wire Bra

A favorite of WH editor-in-chief Liz Plosser, this wireless bra from Negative Underwear delivers shape, feels airy and light, and comes in plenty of color and sheerness options. It also feels next-level comfortable. "It’s all I wear," says Plosser, who adds that Negative Underwear is her fave brand. "Their items are super comfy, durable, and they have the absolute cutest sporty chic styles."

Other testers rave about how lightweight it is, but they also say it fits a little snug—on some people it can even appear as a minimizer bra. Other testers say the bra is aesthetically-pleasing (and super hot!), making it one of the more stylish options on this list.

How our team chose the best wireless bras

For the past few months, Women’s Health editors, including lifestyle and commerce editor Jasmine Gomez and associate fashion and commerce editor Lily Wohlner, have been researching the bestselling, most popular, and top-rated wireless bras. Our team consulted three bra experts for opinions, and then evaluated thousands of testing notes and ratings to narrow down the best wireless bras for a wide range of needs and preferences.

Things to consider when buying a wireless bra

Here are a few things you should keep in mind when buying a wireless bra, according to Tempesta.

Sizing and fit

However your boobs look, it's all about finding something that helps you feel as confident in your body as possible. Sizing in wireless bras is quite similar to a standard bra, Tempesta says. You'll know it fits if you feel comfortable and don't have any skin pinching or popping out of the bra.

If it's made from stretchy material (ala Kim Kardashian's Skims), you can go for a smaller size in case it loses some elasticity over time and becomes too stretchy.

Fabric

Cotton, nylon, and spandex are all popular and suitable fabrics for your wireless bra, says Tempesta. Just bear in mind her tip about support: "If you want to keep the breasts lifted, go for something with no stretch." A solid option on this list is the Warner's Easy Does It Wireless Bra.

Straps or closure

You should keep the bra's closure in mind when shopping for one. For the bralettes or other fabric bras, beware that the looser the band, the less supportive it will be. So if you’re pulling the bra over your head instead of closing it with a clasp, it’s probably not going to keep everything in place, Tempesta explains.

Style

Finally, the style depends on the person, says Tempesta. From lacey designs to bralettes and strapless options, there are plenty of wireless styles to choose from. Tempesta does recommend following the above basic guidelines when picking something out that's strictly for support, though.

Are wireless bras supportive?

They can be...but there is a catch, Tempesta says. In her opinion, the perfect bra hasn't been designed. “There’s not really a trifecta yet where you have a bra that is wireless, aesthetically-pleasing, and comfortable. You can get comfortable and non-supportive or supportive and no stretch.”

But ultimately, shopping for the right bra comes down to how you feel in it. If you try it on, like it, and think it's supportive and comfortable enough for your breasts, that's all that matters when it comes to shopping for one.

With that in mind, Tempesta has some tips for wireless bra hunters. If you’re looking for support, find one with no foam and no stretch. "When your breast is in a foam cup it sinks,” she says. The most support will come from a bra with sturdy straps with no stretch from the top of the shoulder to the cup. If you buy a bra that doesn't have stretch, you're also more likely to get a lifted, rounded shape to your breasts, Tempesta adds.

Who can wear a wireless bra?

Absolutely anyone, says Rosie Mangiarotti, fashion and garment expert and founder of Perkies. "Women with bigger breasts or busts may have a harder time finding one that offers enough support for day-to-day movement, but there are several companies creating solutions to solve for these customer pain points," she adds. The key is finding one that works for your particular breast size.

gfx

Why does my bra roll up under my breasts?

Small cup size

If your bra rolls up under your breasts, the most likely reason is that the cup size is too small, Newman says. "There is not enough fabric and/or the fabric is not stretchy enough to cover the breast volume, so it lifts up under the breasts."

Improper fit

Think about the last time you got your bra size measurements. It's probably been a while, right? If you're wearing the wrong-sized bra, it's bound to roll up. "The key to a well-fitting bra lies in understanding your correct size, which involves measurements for both the band and cup," Mangiarotti says.

People with long torsos may also have trouble finding the right fit, Newman says. "I would recommend checking if the straps are properly adjusted, and if the bra is still lifting then you should go up one cup size," she suggests.

You should also be weary of a band that's too tight, Mangiarotti adds. "If your bra band feels like it's squeezing you or causing indentations, it's time to go up a size. A snug yet comfortable band is crucial for providing the necessary support without causing discomfort."

Strap tension

Tight straps might seem like a solution for extra lift, but they can actually contribute to the roll-up issue, says Mangiarotti. When your bra straps are too tight, that can cause the band to ride up in the back—yet another reason why you should get proper measurements from a bra fitting expert.

Do wireless bras give support to large breasts?

Wireless bras can give good support to large breasts, but it depends on the bra's level of coverage, fabric, and design, says Newman. "I would check that the straps are wide and adjustable and that the back band is firm with a hook-and-eye closure." A solid option to go for? Cosbella Free Cut Micro Tall Triangle Bralette.

When it comes to design, a plunge neckline will typically be less supportive, Newman adds. "The more on show the breasts are, the less fabric there is providing support and lift." She also recommends seeking bras with molded cups, since they can provide additional support, while creating separation of the breasts.

If you're looking for a wireless option with loads of support, you can also try opting for a sticky bra, says Mangiarotti. Their reusable adhesive can offer a ton of coverage and lift.

gfx
Women's Health - Hearst Owned

What are the disadvantages of wireless bras?

Wireless bras can be great for comfort, but there are a few disadvantages compared to bras with wires. For example, they often provide less lift and silhouette than other structured bras, Mangiarotti says. "Nevertheless, modern wireless bras incorporate innovative designs that create impressive lift and shape," she adds.

Underwired bras are also better for creating a separation of the breasts, but with wireless options that's usually only achievable if you opt for molded cups," Newman explains. Some wireless bras also tend to lose their shape the more you wear them. Shopping for a bra with quality materials can help extend the lifespan of the bra.

Finally, Mangiarotti says that the size ranges of wireless bras may not be as inclusive as other more structured designs. "[This may] make it difficult for plus sizes and those with large breasts to find a wireless style that fits them.
