The 2020 Ikea Catalog Is Here & We're Adding These 10 Pieces to Our Cart Right Now

IKEA has been helping some of us sleep better for decades — without my $10 duvet cover that admittedly feels like sandpaper but has an adorable Nordic-inspired red trellis pattern, my first studio apartment would truly have looked like a dungeon instead of a millennial’s bedroom. IKEA’s 2020 catalogue was just digitally released, and they are doubling down on their commitment to helping folks get a good night’s sleep. Every item in their catalog belongs to one of five categories that help you fulfill your home’s emotional needs — once those are in place, you can finally get the good night’s sleep you need and deserve.

Divided into five categories, the catalog features six styled spaces that demonstrate the design principles of Belonging, Ownership, Security, Comfort, and Privacy. It’s definitely high-concept for a discount home goods retailer, but we’re *so* here for it.

Honestly, you have to give props to the copywriters who somehow managed to convince us that storage bins fit into one of the core five emotional needs of your home. Here we merely thought they would help us organize our closet, not contribute to an overall sense of harmony that would set us adrift on a sea of sweet dreams each night…or something like that.

If you too want to sail aboard the good ship Sleeptime, check out some of the coziest, most chic, and totally covetable items from the IKEA 2020 catalogue.

1. SONGESAND Bed Frame

We love an affordable bed frame that actually comes with a headboard, but the SONGESAND goes one step further – it has four storage boxes built into the frame so you can store stuff under your bed without needing to buy a bed skirt.

2. BERGPALM Duvet Cover Set

Don’t be misled by the low thread count – this plush duvet cover set is woven with thick 100% cotton yarn to give it an extra-cozy feel.

3. SYMFONISK WiFi Speaker Lamp

Making its debut in August 2019, the SYMFONISK is a table lamp speaker developed with SONOS. It’s warm glow will make your room feel like a snug little oasis as your favorite music streams through the speaker, filling your house with song.

5. BUSKBO Armchair

Bring the outside in with the BUSKBO chair. This rattan seating option can help make your living area seem tropical and breezy all year round – or place it on the porch for a comfy place to sit.
