It’s the moment “Justice League” fans have been waiting for: After countless pleas and campaigns, the previously unreleased original cut of the 2017 movie — which had superheroes Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg and Superman sharing the same screen — will finally be released on HBO Max in 2021.

Director Zack Snyder announced the exciting news during a live Q&A on May 20, right after a virtual screening of “Man of Steel.”

Though Snyder was responsible for the majority of the work on “Justice League,” he had to step away from the film in 2016 during the post-production and editing process due to a family emergency, according to Variety. Warner Bros. enlisted the help of Joss Whedon; however, many fans are convinced that Snyder’s vision for the film was much darker than Whedon’s.

Following the film’s release, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut became a trending hashtag amongst DC fans. Even cast members like Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa joined in, calling for the release of the director’s original vision.

Well, both the fans and the actors are finally getting what they want — and they couldn’t be happier.

“This is the greatest thing to happen in 2020,” one person commented.

“HBO saves 2020,” another user added.

Even Jason Momoa expressed how ecstatic he was.

“You see that s***? You put it out there,” he said. “You believe that? Releasing the Snyder cut? HBO Max, man. I can’t believe it. It’s happening, finally.”
