8-year-old wows internet with explicit original song: 'So much attitude'

Over the weekend, the internet was abuzz with news about a brilliant new song. The track wasn’t from Drake’s new mixtape or even a Beyoncé collab; rather, it was the work of 8-year-old Jolee Dunn, and it’s called “I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole.”

The catchy tune was shared on Twitter by Jolee’s mom, Lisa Rieffel-Dunn. In just a few days, it’s already received more than 329,000 likes and more than 75,000 retweets.

“My kid wrote a song called, ‘I Wonder What’s Inside your Butthole.’ Quite honestly, it slaps,” she wrote.

“I wonder what’s inside your butthole / Maybe there is astronauts / Maybe there is aliens / All inside your butthole,” Jolee sings. “What’s inside your butthole? I always want to know.”

In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Lisa revealed that Jolee wrote the song in an attempt to stay up later.

“If I recall correctly, this song was a stall tactic–type diversion to attempt staying up later,” she said. “The one leg pushed up on the PJs are a telltale indicator that she’s at the end of the line, way past bedtime, and really needs to sleep.”

Suffice it to say that people online have taken notice of Jolee’s song.

“She has so much attitude and such songwriting ability that she’s got us all singing about buttholes. Great work. Grammy for best new artist,” one person said.

Another user called the song “the pandemic anthem we didn’t know we needed.”

Even celebrities are now fans of Jolee.

“Suddenly self-conscious about my album bc if i am honest with myself it will never be this good,” Hayley Williams of Paramore said.

“Who do I talk to to get on this remix,” famous DJ Diplo asked.

Josh Radnor — AKA Ted Mosby — even covered the song with his music partner Ben Lee.

Jolee hardly cares about her newfound fame, though. According to her mom, she is only concerned about whether Doja Cat — her idol — has reacted to the video.

“Jolee will ponder that for a moment, then ask, ‘Did Doja Cat see it?’ which is her only barometer for fame,” Lisa said. Fair enough!
