Jose Cuervo is covering tabs in lead-up to Cinco de Mayo
In the days leading up to Cinco de Mayo and in effort to encourage people to stay home amid a global health crisis, Mexican tequila brand Jose Cuervo is offering to pick up the costs for meals ordered from local, independent Mexican restaurants.
Through May 5, Cuervo, in partnership with mobile payment service Venmo, is encouraging fans to order takeout food and share photos of their receipts, along with the hashtags #CincoToGo and #CuervoContest, with the tequila brand’s Twitter account @JoseCuervo. Winners will be selected randomly on a daily basis, and Cuervo will reimburse the costs via Venmo.
From now through Cinco de Mayo, Jose Cuervo will pick up the tab on thousands of to-go orders when you order food from a local, independent Mexican restaurant. Tweet us the receipt with #CincoToGo#CuervoContest.

The Latinx community, particularly Mexican businesses, have been heavily affected by the pandemic. A report from Mijente Support Committee revealed that Latinx individuals are dying at higher rates from COVID-19 due to limited access to healthcare, according to KRON4. Approximately 70 percent of Latinx-owned businesses that applied for funding from the federal government have yet to receive any relief, the League of United Latin American Citizens and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce further note.
