This artist reimagines celebrity outfits as food

It’s only OK when some people play with their food.

Ruby Perman is a food stylist. The California-based artist reimagines celebrity outfits as meals. The plate is her canvas and the supermarket is home to her supplies. Perman recently shared a video featuring Ariana Grande — and the “7 Rings” singer was looking mighty green.

“Grande Guacamole,” she captioned the short video.

Perman chose a photo where Grande is doing her signature pose. The singer is half-turned away from the camera and flaunting her favorite side. But this is no red carpet event, Grande’s gown is entirely made of avocado. Each piece is perfectly sliced and arranged to create the massive skirt of the dress. Then, in an instant, the entire image is obliterated. Perman mashes the avocado, sprinkles seasoning on it and dips her tortilla chip right in.

The original photo appears to be from the 2016 Grammys. Grande wore a red Romona Keveza dress with Niwaka teardrop earrings. If you look closely, you can still even see the red spaghetti strap poking out of the avocado.

Perman’s clip received 140,000 views on TikTok. Users were happy to chime in with their own celebrity requests like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Emma Watson and Katy Perry.

“Ariana needs to see this. I think she likes avocados,” a TikTok user commented.

“My sister would want Beyoncé,” another user said.

“Don’t eat the head,” another joked.

You probably won’t be able to get your hands on any of Perman’s original works because, well, they’re perishable. The food stylist sells her reprinted works online. You can follow more of her ephemeral food plates on TikTok and Instagram.
