If you're running out of ideas to keep yourself busy during quarantine, you're not alone. While being at home most of the day has its perks, it's also difficult to stay entertained. But this could be the perfect time to pick up a little home gardening.

And you don't actually need a patio or a lot of backyard space to get started. Instead, you can grow some of the most precious plants right from your living room thanks to this Dawn Redwood Bonsai Forest garden kit.

Although it's a little pricey at $50, this kit has everything you need to grow your own forest of dawn redwood bonsai trees. According to the product description, it comes with "tree and moss seed, seedling training pots, growing medium, bonsai scissors, river stone and a steel box." You even get directions on how to take care and maintain your dawn redwood plant.

And the dawn redwood is truly a unique tree because it has an upright trunk and "needle-shaped foliage." In addition, it's one of the few deciduous conifer, which means its leaves change colors depending on the season. Plus, it's also the ancestor of the California redwood, according to the product description.

But aside from their beauty, bonsai trees are often admired because of their symbolism. Many people associate a bonsai tree with peace, harmony and balance — which may be why some shoppers are drawn to this kit.

"This was gifted to me 3 yrs ago and has been very rewarding and fun. Most all the seeds sprouted and I've given many away," one reviewer wrote. "I did place them in damp coco peat in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for a couple of months before planting. I had read that they need that cold treatment to make them sprout. My forest gets re-potted about every other year. At the 3 yr. mark, they were planted in a somewhat larger container."

And while some reviewers were happy with the garden kit, the main complaint was that the seeds were too slow to sprout.

"This was a wonderful gift idea for my bonsai loving husband to commemorate our trip to the redwoods and he was thrilled to receive it. However, after carefully following the directions to a T and lovingly cultivating the seeds, only one seedling has sprouted in the last 8 weeks. Really disappointed that the seeds didn't grow."
