TikTok user’s new quarantine hobby impresses social media

A TikTok user has gone viral after he came up with a creative way to spend his free time at home.

On March 29, the user, who goes by Cade Nicholson on the social media platform, shared a clip in which a person — presumably his father — throws a “hand grenade” made of aluminum foil into a a bedroom. As Nicholson attempts to get out of the room, the person closes the door and reopens the door to reveal the entire bedroom covered in foil.

Nicholson, who is covered in aluminum foil from head to toe, then breaks out into a popular TikTok dance set to The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”

“Quarantine hobby,” Nicholson posted on TikTok. “This cost me $232 in foil and took 3 days to make.. don’t let this flop.”

The clip has since received over 757,000 views and nearly 114,000 likes.

“That one futuristic episode of spongebob why is everything chrome,” one person wrote.

“Can you all please for once appreciate the effort going into videos instead of just liking lame dances,” another posted.

Others, however, commented on the amount of aluminum foil that was used for the stunt.

“Why is no one commenting on how wasteful this is,” one user asked.

“What a waste of foil paper,” another said.

Since its release in 2016, TikTok has amassed well over 1 billion users. The mobile app has also spurred a number of popular challenges, including a “Blinding Lights” challenge where users break out into a specific dance routine.
