The Hurdle Hanger will make you wonder why hangers haven’t evolved in decades. The innovative new hanger is designed differently from traditional ones. Rather than having to stuff a hanger into the narrow neck of a t-shirt or turtleneck, the Hurdle Hanger is designed more like a hook.
It’s fitted with slip-resistant strips, so you can simply slide the hanger into any clothes item. In the video above, you can see the fuss-less clothes hanger in action. Collabo Space designed the Hurdle Hanger for Pants in 2018 and spun off the idea into this all-purpose clothing hanger.
“In December 2018, we made our debut with our patented Hurdle Hanger for Pants and successfully raised $200,000 from 6,300 backers from 58 countries via Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and Wadiz,” Collabo Space wrote on their website. “We are extremely grateful for the amazing support of our backers and cannot thank them enough for placing their trust in us and our product.”
The creator, Swen Hong, says she did not expect the special hangers to take off until she received an enormous amount of support on Kickstarter, where it became the most crowdfunded hanger on the platform.
The Hurdle Hanger has a few other special touches. On one side, it is fitted with a C-type hook, and, on the other side, a smaller hook, which makes the hanger great for hanging scarves, belts and accessories. Designed to be 2 to 3 inches higher than other hangers on the market, the Hurdle Hanger was also created with the purpose of saving space at the bottom of a closet — this, in turn, can allow for room for additional storage containers.
Made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (a recyclable plastic that is extremely durable and chemical resistant), the product is also more environment-friendly than other plastic hangers.
The Hurdle Hanger has so far managed to raise $231,580 on Kickstarter. A $20 pledge will get donors a pack of 10, with the product expected to ship this June.
