Woman shares her 'gross' hand-washing mistake: 'I’m curious what else you’re not noticing'

A Reddit user recently realized that although she was washing her hands diligently, it was all fruitless because she was using a block of cheddar cheese.
“Just realized my soap wasn’t working because it’s literally a block of cheese,” Reddit user lionellrichie wrote alongside a photo.

The responses were incredulous. Many asked if the post implied she had been eating soap this whole time, while others were confused about how she couldn’t at least smell the difference.
“It was hard as a rock dried on the counter,” lionellrichie explained in response to someone asking if she went to the fridge first before washing her hands. “Gross yes I know.”
“I’m curious what else you’re not noticing now,” someone replied. “Check your wallet for lettuce.”
A lot of comments asked the poster if she was on drugs, several making the same exact “When Harry Met Sally” joke (“I’ll have what she’s having!”).
Others kindly shared similar stories of insane mix-ups.
“My wife once mixed up travel size hair gel for hand sanitizer during a disney trip,” wrote one user. “She and the kids had been using it for days til i saw it.”
