While I full-heartedly believe grocery shopping can be a theraputic experience, during the Sunday rush or times of emergency, it can be downright miserable navigating your cart through the aisles.

Shopping online for groceries, however, can help you avoid the lines and save time so you can cross other things off on your to-do list (like working out or more realistically, catching up on “Love Is Blind”). Luckily for Amazon Prime members, Amazon Fresh’s 2-hour delivery is now totally free for orders over $35.

What is Amazon Fresh?

Amazon Fresh was previously $14.99 per month for Prime members, but now the service will cost absolutely nothing when you order more than $35 in groceries. And, your stuff will get to you within 2 hours. It’s pretty great! The service is available across the U.S. in more than 2,000 cities and regions, and soon to be more. (Note: You can check if it’s available in your area on Amazon.)

Amazon Fresh is just like any other grocery delivery service in that you can get fresh produce, meat and seafood, dairy and eggs, frozen food and other household items. There’s even a Fresh Deals section where you can snag discounts like 10 percent off of frozen appetizers, $1 off cheese, buy two, save 30 percent off on Valentine’s Day candy and more.

However, the major advantage over other services is that you can also purchase everyday essentials as well as Best-of-Amazon items, including electronics, apparel and more.

There’s also Amazon Pantry…

If you prefer to pick out your produce the old-fashioned way — at the store or farmer’s market — there’s also Amazon Pantry, which allows you to order dry goods, from snacks and beauty products to cleaning supplies and toilet paper.

Orders over $35 ship free for Prime members, and the more you buy, the more you save. When you buy five pantry items, you get 5 percent off your order and when you buy 10 items, you get 10 percent off. When you order 15 items or more, you get 15 percent off your entire Pantry order.

The benefits of ordering groceries

Personally, I’ve tried both services, but prefer Fresh to get everything I need in just a few clicks — I’ve ordered produce, steaks, pasta and more. It’s not only saved me time, but helped me save money and waste less food, because I can see exactly how much my groceries will cost and everything that’s in my cart before paying. It also helped me cut back on those unhealthy, impulsive purchases by keeping me out of the chips and candy aisles.

If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for a free trial and try out Amazon Fresh and Amazon Pantry for yourself. However, if you already are a Prime member, then all I have to say is try it out and your fridge will never be empty.
