Dog does the unexpected when boy is put in timeout
A Facebook post from an Ohio mother has gone viral for hilariously capturing what her dog did when her son was put in timeout.
On Jan. 26, Jillian Marie Smith, who lives in Norwalk, shared a photo of her 3-year-old son facing the wall with his arm around their 6-month-old English mastiff Dash.
“When you’re in time out but your best pal wont let you serve your time alone,” the photo’s caption reads.
Smith’s post has since gone viral — it has received over 44,000 shares and nearly 3,000 comments.
“That is so precious,” one person wrote in response. “The dog looks like he’s saying, I got you pal we’re a team.”
“So SWEET,” another wrote. “Every child should have a dog like that!!”
In an interview with Today Parents, Smith acknowledged that her son and her dog are strongly attached to one another.
“Dash understood,” she said. “He was like, ‘Peyton needs me.’ It’s unreal how close they are.”
In fact, the two are so fond of one another that the pup often greets Peyton when he comes home from school, Smith said.
“If I have to know where Peyton is, I’m like, ‘Where’s the dog?'” she said. “They’re always together.”
