Well, actually, it’s a scientific combination of kaolin (clay) and water that helps brighten, exfoliate and soothe your skin. According to the product description, the kaolin deep cleanses the skin to help reduce excess oil, remove impurities and reduce inflammation.
However, the melting mask is most celebrated for its main ingredient: green tea extract (the matcha). Winky Lux calls it a “powerful antioxidant that helps to protect skin against pollutants.” It also is an anti-inflammatory and can help reduce any redness.
But OK, enough beauty science! Here’s how to use the mask. First, open the pouch and pour the powder onto clean, dry hands. Then, rub the powder in your hands until creamy (do not add water, it doesn’t need it). Then apply the cream onto your entire freshly cleaned, dry face.
You can leave it on for up to 15 minutes, but something to note is that this mask will not dry and it may give your face a slight warming sensation. When you’re ready to take it off, just rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
