While Alicia Silverstone's journey to veganism initially began with her love of animals, her dedication to the lifestyle extends far beyond what's on her plate.
The benefits, she's noticed, are never-ending.
"I credit this diet 100 percent with improving my life," she said about switching to a plant-based diet. "I’ve ditched my asthma inhaler, stopped my weekly allergy shots, lost weight, energy boosted, and found my skin and hair to be more shiny, voluminous, and radiant than ever! My moods feel more balanced and my mind overall feels much more calm."
The actress, who has been a vegan for over twenty years, doesn't just stick to a plant-based diet, but she also incorporates all-natural ingredients in her beauty routine, too.
Besides the physical changes she felt, the mom-of-one says she's become more "mindful" of the products she uses, whether its in the kitchen or on her body. She always takes the time to research products and their ingredients to make sure they're truly natural.
"In general, if an ingredient is hard to pronounce and unknown to me, I always research it," she continued. "My go-to database is [the] Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep search engine."
