The Infinity Saga has given us some of the coolest crossovers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there have been a surprising number of character interactions that have yet to happen in any of the phases thus far. Marvel Studios
With more interesting characters entering the MCU with each subsequent film, streaming series, and Sonyverse flick, I've assembled 20 character crossovers that would send fans to the moon if (or when) they happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...
1. Moon Knight and Doctor Strange Perhaps the most "sure thing" of any of these potential pairings, the meeting of minds between Dr. Stephen Strange and Marc Spector is certainly going to be a headtrip, especially considering Strange's meeting of alter-egos in the Multiverse of Madness .
Marvel Studios / Alamy, Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 2. Wolverine and The Hulk While it seems Hugh Jackman's tenure as wolverine has come to a definitive end following Logan , the scraps between The Hulk and Wolverine in comics, video games, and animated movies are things of legend. With the debut of the X-Men in the MCU inevitable, it feels like there's a better possibility than ever to see these two forces collide. As for Jackman… Well, as we saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home and will see in the upcoming Flash film, never say never when it comes to big returns in superhero films.
20th Century Fox / Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 3. Shang Chi and Daredevil Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a welcome addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, but perhaps the biggest acclaim for the film came in its spectacular fight sequences. Coincidentally, the same could be said of Marvel's Netflix series, Daredevil , and with the latter making his way into the MCU proper last year, it could be fun to watch an exhibition between these hard-hitting heroes.
Marvel Studios / Netflix / Everett Collection 4. Kingo and The Guardians of the Galaxy While the Eternals are among the most underwhelming additions to the MCU, one of the standouts of the film was Kumail Nanjiani's colorful yet loyal Kingo. Naturally, given Nanjiani's comedic background, and the character's "laser finger guns" power, the Guardians of the Galaxy could have a field day trading barbs with Kingo, an interaction which ultimately seems fairly possible given where his character remains at the end of Eternals .
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 5. Blade and Morbius I'm not going to sit here and pretend that the world is chomping at the bit for the next installment of Morbius , but for longtime Marvel fans, the clash (and eventual team-up) between the Living Vampire and the Daywalker is one for the ages, so if there's any chance that we might see the two finally unite on the big screen, we hope Marvel can work its magic with Sony once again.
Sony Pictures Entertainment, New Line Cinema / Everett Collection 6. Ant-Man and Mr. Fantastic Two of the more unique minds in Marvel lore, Ant-Man/Scott Lang has often found himself to be a willing participant in the experiments and missions of others, including the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym, and Captain America. In this sense, it would be very interesting to see how he'd interact with the ever-curious Richard Reed, especially given the possibilities of one another's respective powers interacting on a larger scale.
Marvel Studios, 20th Century Fox / Everett Collection 7. Spider-Man and Venom As teased in both Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home , the paths of Spider-Man and Venom are interlinked within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Perhaps the question that remains now is just how these characters may interact, whether it be a cross-dimensional fight between Tom Holland's Peter Parker and Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock or battles between each universe's respective substitutes.
Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment / Everett Collection 8. Hawkeye and The Punisher Though Hawkeye primarily focused on Hawkeye reconciling his previous tenure as the murderous "Ronin," there's one figure from Marvel's canon who may feel that he shouldn't be off the hook so easy: The Punisher. While their agendas may have been similar, there's no denying a knock-down, drag-out brawl between Clint Barton and Frank Castle would be a must-watch battle (though a team-up would also be a bloody good time).
Marvel Studios, Netflix / Everett Collection 9. The Hulk and The Thing It's the hoss fight that all of Marvel fandom has been waiting for: A literal unstoppable object in The Hulk squaring off against the literal immovable force in The Thing. While it will be fun when the pair eventually team up to take clobberin' time to the next level, their one-on-one showdown has the possibility to be a destructively great time.
Marvel Studios / 20th Century Fox / Everett Collection 10. Captain Marvel and The Silver Surfer Two of the most cosmic characters in Marvel's universe, Captain Marvel's power is matched only by that of The Silver Surfer, and with buzzing rumors of Galactus potentially being the post-Thanos big bad guy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it may take the combination of these superpowers to take him down.
Marvel Studios / 20th Century Fox / Everett Collection 11. Nick Fury and Deadpool With Deadpool entering the MCU imminently, it would seem only fitting that the two stars of The Hitman's Bodyguard franchise would get their moment to shine in their superheroic alter-egos with Ryan Reynold's Deadpool annoying Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury on the biggest platform possible.
Marvel Studios / 20th Century Fox / Everett Collection 12. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Eros In terms of interstellar allegiances, the jury is still out on how Eros (aka Starfox) will come into play within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but given the context clues of Eros' sole appearance in Eternals , it would certainly seem that he would likely cross paths with the Guardians of the Galaxy, who just may need his vast power to take on Adam Warlock.
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection / YouTube 13. Agatha Harkness and Doctor Strange Agatha Harkness nearly stole the show in Wandavision , and with the recent announcement of her solo series, there has been much speculation about her future in the MCU. But after seeing her magical duel with Scarlet Witch, it seems Marvel's next magically-imbued opponent for the sadistic sorceress would be none other than Stephen Strange, and we have no clue what state Strange may be in following his ventures through the Multiverse of Madness .
Marvel Studios / Alamy / Everett Collection 14. Kingpin and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine So far in Marvel's Phase Four, there have only been so many villains who have survived their respective conflicts, with the exclusion of the morally ambiguous de Fontaine and the officially-canon Kingpin (whose potential off-screen demise is currently in question). With de Fontaine posed to be assembling her own group of anti-heroes to do her illicit bidding, there's certainly a possibility that her former client may return to help her potentially evil operations grow within the MCU.
Netflix / Marvel Studios / Alamy / Everett Collection 15. Black Widow (Yelena Belova) and U.S. Agent With both operatives possibly working for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, it will be interesting to see what Marvel has planned for the former Captain America and the current Black Widow. Considering the volatility of the former character, a face-off between U.S. Agent and Yelena could test the mettle of each combatant while affirming their allegiances for future MCU installments.
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 16. Wanda Maximoff and Adam Warlock For fans of Marvel's comics, Adam Warlock is renowned as a force to be reckoned with, and assuming that he survives his bout with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Vol. 3 , it might take an extremely powerful hero to take him on (or, at least, counter-balance his impulses should he turn to the side of good). Enter Wanda Maximoff, who seems to harness her power to an even greater level in the Multiverse of Madness , which may make her the perfect foe for Warlock.
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 17. Black Panther and Luke Cage After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, and Mike Colter's less-than-optimistic comments about his future in the MCU, it may feel like the ship has sailed on this character crossover. However, with rumors of the Black Panther mantle being passed on to Winston Duke's M'Baku and the possibility of further canonization of Marvel's Netflix series, it's far from impossible that we might see Black Panther and Luke Cage suit up to kick-ass side-by-side, whether it be in Wakanda or New York City.
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 18. Loki and Howard the Duck Honestly, this one is just for fun; we've seen Loki interact with many different variants, including an alligator-version of himself, to great comedic effect. While Howard the Duck has largely operated on the fringes of the MCU, it would be a sight to see if Loki's timeline-hopping mischief put him directly in the path of Marvel's most controversial fowl.
Marvel Studios / Everett Collection 19. Ms. Marvel and Jessica Jones Ms. Marvel seems to be one of Marvel's most anticipated series, and much like Wandavision and Avengers: Endgame , the show will bring the MCU back to one of its most important environments: New Jersey. With the Jersey City-set hero show right across the Hudson, it may be the perfect place (and, honestly, the perfect impressionable hero) to help usher back Jessica Jones into Marvel canon akin to her Defenders costars.
Netflix / Marvel Studios / Alamy & Everett Collection 20. Blade and Werewolf by Night With the MCU's first outright horror property debuting on Disney+ this October with Werewolf by Night , it would seem that this lycanthropic hero would be the perfect gateway to introduce Blade in the flesh to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Likewise, an interaction as such could help bring Werewolf by Night to the big screen and bring forth the supernatural into the main canon of the MCU proper (outside of the zombie-filled Multiverse, of course).
