Fashion finds arch support.

The “beauty is pain” adage loses traction when you work on your feet. Jobs structured around walking and standing—think: stylists, photographers, teachers, nurses, anyone who works in hospitality—take a serious toll on the body. Fortunately, however, we live in a golden era for sneakers. The options are manifold and completely work-appropriate. That said, when you’re looking to invest in sneakers that hold their weight aesthetically, style well with your day-to-day work clothes, and prove sturdy enough to last, how can you also ensure that they feel comfortable enough to warrant all-day wear?

“I’ve always been a sneaker person. Working in bars and restaurants, you need arch support,” says Alexandra McCown, a former stylist who now helms Frog Wine Bar in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. “But, of course, it’s important that you have the right sneakers.” That’s why we talked to bar owners, servers, and bartenders about what shoes make long, upright workdays most bearable. Here are our 20 absolute favorites.

Best Overall: New Balance Women's 574 Core Sneaker

See at Amazon.com

See at Nordstrom.com

Why We Love It: Perhaps needless to say, we’re in the throes of the dad fashion movement. What was once fundamentally uncouth (read: donned by a pre-makeover Steve Carell in Crazy Stupid Love) is now sincerely hip in the unironic sense—hence, the New Balance renaissance. That said, the shoes are not merely in vogue for their bizarrely orthopedic silhouette—they’re also unendingly reliable. With an unassuming hybrid road/trail racing design, this shoe is durable and comfortable as hell no matter what kind of terrain you’re confronting. With a body made of both suede and mesh, a recycled rubber outer sole, and an insole made of soft foam coated in a hearty polyurethane rim, the thing promises all-day (and all-year) support. Long story long, it’s an unexpected icon for a reason.

Who It’s For: Anyone with a comfort-first mindset will find the plush shoe perfect for long days on their feet. Good to wear to work and casually out and about, you’ll find that these will quickly become your everything shoe.

Size: 5–12 standard and wide | Material: Suede and mesh upper, EVA midsole, rubber and recycled rubber outsole

Best Affordable: Muji Less Tiring Sneakers

See at Muji.ca

Why We Love It: It’s hard to find sneakers at a better price than this under-$40 Muji pair. With a classic, boyish silhouette (think: Converse, but with a South of France edge), these are an easy addition to any summertime outfit. And at a price point this good, they’re guiltlessly replaceable when stained beyond repair (aka, painting, cooking, and gardening). Made of cotton treated with a water-repellant finish, they’ll hold their own in rain and sludge, and the cushioned insole is certainly a valuable addition for long days spent on your feet. “I keep buying these shoes over and over again…they’re so affordable, and I love how they look with everything,” says McCown. “Plus, if you add in your own inserts, they become super comfortable.”

Who It’s For: People who find that their shoes quickly get dirty in busy restaurant kitchens will want something that can easily be replaced if need be and still look cute each time.

Size: 5.5–12.5 standard | Material: Cotton, rubber

Best Splurge: Chloé Nama Mixed Media Platform Sneakers

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Saksfifthavenue.com

Why We Love It: If you’re planning to hard splurge on a pair of sneakers, they should do well by your feet, not just your outfit. And for what it’s worth, we’re obsessed with this particular Chloé pair, the likes of which feel like the cool girl quilted jacket of the moment—in footwear form. Complete with multicolor stitching throughout, a semi-sheer mesh tongue, contrast laces, and a logo embossed at the heel, these are sure to make an impression. And in terms of comfort, too, the pros here are just as varied: There’s a textured foam midsole and a treaded rubber outsole for both traction and comfort; a jersey and buffed calfskin lining (soft as hell); and the heel comes with a jersey trim to keep blisters at bay.

Who It’s For: Anyone who wants to make a fashion statement that can’t be easily copied—although a designer piece, this shoe is lesser known and will easily pass as an if-you-know-you-know style.

Size: 5–12 standard | Material: Jersey/buffed calfskin lining, textured foam rubber midsole, treaded rubber outsole

Best Black: Salomon ACS Unisex Sportstyle Shoes

See at Salomon.com

Why We Love It: No sneaker has achieved quite as much hypebeast stature (seemingly overnight) as the Salomon. The slip-on athletic shoe, long commended for its fundamentally outdoorsy prestige, has found its way firmly into the high fashion lexicon. Once lauded primarily for trail running, the brand is now fostering collaborations with major designers (Sandy Liang, for example). And however on-trend they may be, the best part is that they’re still a well-made trail running shoe and an equally worthwhile accessory for long walks and work days spent on your feet. The mesh parts of the shoe are PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which is actually what plastic bottles are made from—while the upper sections are made with corn fibers (which require just two ears of corn waste). The sole, then, is made with pure rubber, complete with an insole specially designed by the Salomon team to help increase stability.

Who It’s For: Whether you’re going for a quick stroll in the forest or meeting friends for a casual hang, this shoe holds a certain status symbol that’s easy to recognize, especially if you love street style equally as much as long adventures on your feet.

Size: 5–14 standard | Material: Polyethylene terephthalate/corn fiber upper, rubber sole

Best Suede: Adidas Originals Gazelle Sneakers

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Adidas.com

Why We Love It: Like the grown-up, more properly fashion-forward sister to the quintessential Adidas Samba, these suede, soccer-inspired shoes give blokecore without entirely abandoning their sense of streamlined, intentional chic. Rubber gum soles provide easy traction and a comfy flat base, while a loose fit and a cushioned tongue help balance out the shoe’s overall silhouette. “I wear these in a classic black-and-white when I’m working behind the bar, when I’m traveling and I’m on my feet a lot, or when I’m wearing something ultra feminine that I want to balance out with a classic, steady sneaker,” says McCown. “They look good with just about everything, and they’ve yet to cause me any foot pain—even after hours of wear.”

Who It’s For: When you need to look put together but certainly can’t sacrifice comfort, these are the shoes to go with, particularly for the fashion-conscious consumer who also wants to rely on proper support.

Size: 6–14 | Material: Sueded leather body, rubber sole

Best Leather: Veja Esplar Sneaker

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Mrporter.com

Why We Love It: If you’re looking for clean and classic with a light Euro bend, look no further than the Veja sneaker—a natural follow-up to classic Keds or old-school basketball sneakers. The shoes boast an eternally flattering silhouette; the available colorways are numerous and easy to match (without abandoning the quintessential white sneaker ethos); and they offer more than enough cushiony support for days where you plan to get more than your fair share of steps in. Think of this as your jack-of-all-trades sneaker: It can skew summery and feminine, sporty, minimal in the proper Danish-inspired sense—arguably professional, even. The shoes are made from bovine leather sourced with care from farms in Uruguay, and tanned in Brazil without the use of any hazardous or prohibited chemicals. And the sole, crafted from Amazonian rubber, offers plenty of arch support for all-day wear.

Who It’s For: The eco-conscious, fashion-forward shopper who lives at the intersection of style and sustainability will enjoy this shoe.

Size: 4–13 | Material: Leather body, recycled polyester lining, rubber sole

Best Tan: Merrell Women's Moab 3 Hiking Shoe

See at Amazon.com

See at Nordstrom.com

Why We Love It: “Since working in service, I gravitate more towards hiking sneakers,” says Brittany Maldonado, a server at New York’s Prima. “I'm also a huge fan of waterproof shoes since they can withstand spills at work or a surprise rainstorm on the way home. I especially love my Merrell Moab Speed Hiking Sneakers. I swear, my feet stopped aching after the first shift I wore them,” she adds. While Merrell has long been lauded for its durability, comfort, and versatility, these particular shoes have plenty to offer. Not only do they hold to the trending silhouette of the moment, but they’re made with recycled laces and mesh linings, as well as a sturdy toe cap and bouncy, serrated rubber outsole designed for added stability and comfort.

Who It’s For: If you're outdoorsy or you’ve experienced aching with previous shoes, these will likely take that problem away.

Size: 5–11 | Material: Canvas and mesh upper, recycled laces, rubber sole

Best Metallic: All Saints Sheer Low-Top Sneaker

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Allsaints.com

Why We Love It: If you’re looking to dazzle a bit with your footwear—without going the bedazzled Louboutin route—why not test out a pair of metallic sneakers? With all the reflective glitz of your far more glamorous shoe options and none of the maximal discomfort, a metallic sneaker is the new glass slipper. And this pair from All Saints, with leather lining in a snakeskin-textured metallic finish, and classic white rubber sole, feels like the perfect melding of maximalism and practicality (again: snakeskin). With bronze detailing at the tongue and the heel to offset the sparkling silver that lines the rest of the shoe, this is the new formalwear (and it does not require either blisters or a pedicure).

Who It’s For: This sneaker is for someone who is not one to shy away from the spotlight and are always on the hunt for something unique.

Size: 6–11 | Material: Leather upper, rubber sole

Best Vintage-Inspired: Nike Classic Cortez Leather sneakers

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Farfetch.com

Why We Love It: These are the types of shoes you might picture Timothée Chalamet wearing with short shorts somewhere in coastal Italy. Of course, anyone would look good sporting these in coastal Italy (or anywhere else, for that matter), but they do maintain a distinctive, vintage boyish charm. That said, with a leather shell, a polyester lining, and a ribbed rubber sole, the shoes are as easy on the feet as they are on the eyes. Plus, they’re impeccably light—which means they’re as easy to pack as they are to sport. “I’ve never owned a pair of Nike sneakers that I couldn't walk around in all day,” says McCown. “When you find a style you like, I think you just have to stick with it.”

Who It’s For: If you find comfort in familiarity (and well-made shoes) and prefer sticking to brands you already trust, the Nike Cortez shoe adds a slight design upgrade from the more popular styles you already own from the brand.

Size: 5–16.5 | Material: Leather, polyester, rubber sole

Best Sustainable: Camper Logo Low-Top Sneakers

See at Farfetch.com

Why We Love It: Camper has been hawking well-made, chic, sustainable footwear for years—and their sneaker line is no exception. This particular shoe, on the wider, bulkier side, feels ever so slightly reminiscent of bloated skate shoe culture (think: Etnies), but with a more streamlined, intentional silhouette. Lined with 70 percent recycled polyester and 30 percent calf leather, the shoe is buttery soft in feel, and the sole is made from polyethylene vinyl acetate (a sustainable rubber alternative) so you can rest assured that they’re made with just about as much eco care as possible. The flat sole and the plush interior make these perfect all day shoes—and in a delicate powdery blue, they’re a perfect way to lean into the girlcore movement.

Who It’s For: Tired of the same old black and white shoe? If you’re looking to add a splash of color to your wardrobe, slip your feet into this plush footbed for all-day comfort.

Size: 5–10 | Material: Recycled polyester lining, calf leather body, polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) sole

Best Canvas Sneaker: Feiyue Fe Lo 1920s Sneaker

See at Amazon.com

See at Feiyue-shoes.com

Why We Love It: We guarantee, this will be the shoe you see everywhere in summer 2024. Not only is it wildly affordable ($30) but it’s also the kind of shoe you’ll want to wear every day. In a fun, natural-colored canvas with a charming, vintage-inspired red and blue insignia, and a Feiyue logo, it wreaks “beach sneaker” (whether or not you believe in sneakers at the beach on the whole). With a gum undersole, and a rubber-capped toe, the shoe might look a little flimsy held up against its more athletic counterparts, but we assure you, it’ll surprise you. These sneakers are remarkably well cushioned on the inside, where padded insoles line the top of the textured rubber bottoms, all enclosed in that signature canvas. And beyond the plush give, the shoes themselves are extra flexible and lightweight.

Who It’s For: This shoe is perfect if you like to be ahead of the curve where fashion trends are concerned but also love a good bargain.

Size: 4–11W, 4–14M | Material: Cotton canvas body, rubber sole

Best White: Thousand Fell Women’s Lace Up Sneakers

See at Gap.com

See at Thousandfell.com

Why We Love It: Rarely do you find yourself with the opportunity to purchase sneakers made of leather that also feel deeply sustainably and ethically crafted—but Thousand Fell is changing the game on that front. These white sneakers, which feel like an homage to the classic Adidas Stan Smith, with a wide body, a round toe, and minimal color accents at the tongue and the heel, make for perfect everyday wear. They’re stain- and odor-resistant (crucial!), comfortable, and breathable—and best of all, the things are made with plush vegan bio-leather; an aloe vera-coated inner lining (should you be bold enough to go sockless); and a recycled foam insole that will shape to your feet the longer you wear them. They’re as sustainable as they are comfortable and you’d be hard-pressed to find an outfit they wouldn’t suit.

Who It’s For: While you like a white sneaker, a little color accent is vital to you. And with this option, you can choose from 15 different color options.

Size: 5–10 | Material: Vegan leather body, aloe vera lining, recycled foam insole, rubber outsole

Best Platform: Superga 2740 Platform

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Revolve.com

Why We Love It: For fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty—or frankly, any other beach-centric, small-town series designed to make viewers fantasize about riding beach cruisers down sunny boardwalks—the platform Superga is a perfect shoe. The added height from the platform gives the classical, minimal shoes a bit of a spicier, retro kick—without detracting from the sturdy, vintage vibe. While they have a youthful feel that seems to beg for fun, fluttering summer dresses or distressed denim shorts, they also bear the timeless, classic quality that any legacy, white canvas sneaker maintains. Handmade with cotton, natural rubber, and aluminum, these are the sorts of wear-with-anything shoes everyone needs in their closet come summer.

Who It’s For: If you’re looking to add a few inches to your height without opting for heels, platform sneakers are the way to go. Although the sole is rather heavy, the canvas upper keeps your feet breathable and comfortable.

Size: 5–11 | Material: Cotton canvas body, vulcanized natural rubber outsole

Best High-Top: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Converse.com

Why We Love It: Converse hightops are essentially the Levi’s of footwear: Eternally in style; vintage and contemporary at once; designed to flatter just about anyone under the sun. “Non-slippery, close to the ground, always comfy, with options for wide feet...what could be better?” says Hannah Harrington, general manager at new American restaurant, Margot. “They’re a classic for a reason. I started training for my half marathon in my Chucks. I will probably be buried in Chucks.” Made of both cotton and canvas, with soles crafted of pure rubber, these OG basketball shoes—the likes of which are certainly not the most advisable shoes for the sport any longer—continue to hold their reign as a sartorial staple both in fashion and function. Are they impressively waterproof? No. Will they last forever? No, but in the meanwhile, they’ll look cool even at their most battered.

Who It’s For: If you love a good classic Americana look, you will always be loyal to this style.

Size: 5–18 standard, 5–15 wide | Material: Cotton canvas body, rubber sole

Best Running Shoe: Hoka Women's Bondi 8

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Dickssportinggoods.com

Why We Love It: In the camp of full-on athletic shoes-turned-high fashion, Hokas have become quite a staple. While the sneakers are beloved by serious runners everywhere for their ultradense, seriously cushioned soles, they’ve also become a go-to for day-to-day wear (it doesn’t hurt that they come in just about every fun colorway under the sun). “I have flat feet so I look for sneakers that have good arch support,” says Maldonado. “My podiatrist recommended Hoka Bondi 8s and they feel excellent underfoot.” Made almost entirely of recycled polyester, which is derived from plastic water bottles and cans, the shoes require 59 percent less energy and natural resources than virgin polyester. Suffice it to say, it’s a sustainable choice as well as a comfortable one. And the foam insoles paired with the dense rubbery outer soles offer a perfect springy boost for long, active days.

Who It’s For: Runners, outdoor enthusiasts, people who are constantly on their feet, and those with flat feet or need a good podiatrist-recommended shoe should choose these sneakers.

Size: 5.5–10 | Material: Recycled polyester, foam insole, rubber outsole

Best Nike: Nike Killshot 2

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Champssports.com

Why We Love It: The Nike Killshot is one of those sneakers that truly withstood the test of time. It transcends gender identities, age markers, and geographic barriers. And for good reason: These ultra comfortable, gum-sole shoes give just the right amount of vintage charm, and they pair brilliantly with everything (namely, denim in all washes). Inspired by old-school, low-profile tennis shoes, these flat leather and suede sneakers are endlessly comfortable whether you’re on the court or the subway. Garnished with the signature Nike check on the side, and a classic logo-embossed tongue, these shoes have soles with excellent traction if you’re working on slippery restaurant floors, or even trudging through rain.

Who It’s For: These are for anyone and everyone—from younglings to the more mature audience, for every gender and every style.

Size: 8.5–13 | Material: Leather upper with suede accents, rubber gum sole

Best Slip-On: Vans Classic Slip-on Checkerboard Shoe

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Dickssportinggoods.com

Why We Love It: In a tender nostalgic nod to the Myspace-sponsored days of yore, these old-school sneakers have made quite the comeback in recent years. But beyond their high school reprise charm, they’re easy to slip on and off at your will—and they're ideal for pulling off the ultimate power clash (few patterns complement checkerboard, naturally). With cushy inserts, and elastic side accents to ensure you can slip the shoes on and off with ease, these are the very flexible, light, breezy sneakers you’ve been waiting for. With a canvas top and a rubber sole—complete with Vans’ signature waffle print underfoot (you’ll recognize it immediately once you see your footprint in sand, mud, or snow), there’s a reason these classics have endured so prominently since 1979. They’re just as cool (and comfy) at the office as they are on a skateboard.

Who It’s For: If you love a classic shoe, and seriously appreciate a slip-on style without the worry of stepping on laces, you’re good to go just about anywhere with these Vans.

Size: 5–17.5 standard and wide | Material: Canvas body, elastic accents, rubber outsole

Best Basic: New Balance 1906R Sneakers

See at Finishline.com

See at Footlocker.com

Why We Love It: Again it’s possible to outfit yourself in a pair of New Balances that skew cool just as much as they skew dad. This pair, made with Abzorb in the sole—a patented New Balance technology designed to absorb impact through a combination of cushioning and compression resistance—is perfect for folks with heavy treads. And better yet, the shoes boast a specialty heel made to deliver stability and comfort (along with a rubber outer sole). Pair these with a gown to achieve the always laudable high/low aesthetic, wear them to work out, or play it cool with simple jeans or trousers. Either way, these are decidedly on trend.

Who It’s For: These shoes are perfect if you live for the laid-back, dad sneaker style but appreciate a modern twist. You also appreciate a versatile style that can be dressed up and down.

Size: 5.5–15.5 | Material: Mesh upper body with synthetic overlays, rubber outsole

Best Arch Support: On Cloud 5 Women's Running Shoe

See at Nordstrom.com

See at Backcountry.com

Why We Love It: Beloved by serious runners, these sneakers are the real deal, especially if you’re prone to arch support issues or conditions like plantar fasciitis. In a lightweight model, these On sneakers are prime for all-day comfort no matter how committed your athletic endeavor may be (yes, standing counts). With a springy, cushioned insole made entirely with recycled rubber and polyester, it’s the kind of thing that lets you stay on your feet without leaving a major carbon footprint. They’re flexible enough to slip on and off with great ventilation courtesy of odor-fighting mesh. The shoe’s sole is molded from foam CloudTec cushioning to soften your landings and help spring your feet forward. It’s basically like the Tempur-Pedic of running sneakers—and what more could you want?

Who It’s For: Anyone who commonly feels strain at the arch of their feet will find tons of relief with this option. A great running shoe, this is a stylish way to get your steps in while leaving pain at bay.

Size: 5–11 | Material: Mesh/polyester body, recycled rubber/polyester insole, foam/rubber sole

Best Designer Collab: Adidas Originals x Wales Bonner Ponyskin Samba

See at Farfetch.com

Why We Love It: These shoes come with a disclaimer stating that any given customer is only permitted to purchase one pair, and is there any mandate more glamorous than that? No doubt, these sneakers are exclusive. This is not your mother’s Samba. The classic soccer shoe with its gum sole has been reimagined by menswear purveyor Wales Bonner to feature an oversized tongue that bends back towards the shoe’s bodice, and an insole dyed with a fun pop of powdery blue. The exterior is made of leopard-print pony skin leather—still featuring the OG sneaker’s signature contrast details, and of course, the three-stripe logo. “I’m so in love with my Wales Bonner Adidas. I'll wear these whenever I go out and want to take a basic outfit up a notch or make a standout outfit a bit more casual,” says Maldonado.

Who It’s For: If there’s nothing more horrifying than blending in, in your opinion, you'll want something as striking as these sneakers to view the world as your runway.

Size: 3.5–14 | Material: Calf leather and pony hair body, rubber sole

What to Keep in Mind

  • Size: If you’re in the market for all-day sneakers, you must be opting for the right size. Shoes that run small will lead to cramped toes and achy feet, while oversized shoes can give way to blisters and lackluster arch support. That said, unfortunately, you’ll often need to try on a pair before you can be certain. “I tend to purchase and return sneakers all the time because, no matter what brand you’re buying from, sizing will be different and you’ve got to test them out to know for sure,” says McCown. “Sometimes I’ll even order multiple sizes at once so I can cross-check, before returning the pairs that don’t feel right.” When shopping online, pay close attention to converting EU sizes and men’s sizes, consult a professional if you find yourself in shops like Footlocker and REI, and be sure to make returns if sizing feels even marginally off. Trust us, it’ll save you some serious pain in the long run.

  • Material: When it comes to style and function, you’ll need to make sure your sneaker materials are properly serving the work you intend to do in them. If you’re going for full-on athletic, take care to choose a shoe with mesh that’s breathable and odor-resistant (think: the outer shell of a classic running shoe). That said, for messier jobs (e.g. restaurant kitchens), you’ll want to make sure your shoes are made from functional, washable materials—and that a little water damage won’t destroy them. “In restaurants, you definitely have to make sure you can get your shoes wet or dirty, and they’ll bounce back. Otherwise, you’d need to re-purchase your sneakers once a week,” says Harrington. In these cases, it may be smarter to opt for leather (might we suggest black) over canvas or cotton—the likes of which will stain, and remain wet for longer periods.

  • Arch Support: For plenty of sneaker stans, arch support is the make-or-break detail. When spending countless hours on your feet, your shoes should provide cushioning that’s specific to your needs. “Because I suffer from flat feet, my podiatrist has recommended that I add insoles to almost all of my shoes. That way I don’t have to sacrifice aesthetics for comfort,” says Maldonado. For runners and athletes, shoes that promise springy inner and outer soles designed to propel you forward are a must, while for everyone else, a rubber or gum sole with good traction and enough cushion to support your arches is essential. “Often, I’ll have to keep a pair of shoes on for a full day before I know how they feel on my arches,” says McCown. “After which I’ll decide whether I need to pair them with insoles or not.

Your Questions, Answered

How often should you replace your sneakers?

For runners, it’s especially important to replace shoes with frequency given the mileage they take on—but even for non-athletes, there is a limit on sneaker wear. Over time, rubber outsoles will wear down and reshape themselves in ways that bend your feet at uncomfortable angles, and insoles will flatten out (robbing you of that essential arch support). Most folks recommend replacing your shoes after every 500 miles—which is to say, if you walk for three to four hours per day, you should be replacing your shoes every six months. “I’m definitely not great at replacing my shoes often enough—but I do make sure to oscillate between different pairs to keep them from wearing out,” McCown says.

How do you style sneakers?

“Sneakers are such an excellent accessory because they can be a statement piece, or they can easily dress down any outfit,” says Maldonado.

Of course, there’s no simple rule of thumb when it comes to styling your sneakers. But when in doubt, a simple white sneaker can polish off any outfit—or, au contraire, when dressing simply or in monochrome, a bold statement shoe can be an easy way to add punch to an outfit while still keeping things casual. “I like to style sneakers for contrast,” says McCown. “If I’m dressed in oversized menswear, I’ll opt away from sneakers in favor of more feminine footwear, but for dressed or quintessential denim outfits, it’s fun to neutralize with a good classic sneaker.”

Which socks should you wear?

In the realm of styling, be sure to consider your sock options. For athletic shoes, a cushioned, fitted sock with compression power is a good move, but for day-to-day wear, opt for higher, fold-over “bobby socks” as a vintage nod (while avoiding ankle scraping), a classic ankle sock for subtlety, or, if you’re a fan of the no-show, invest in a pack of classic peds. That said, be sure you’re replacing your socks as often as possible. When they stretch and lose their elasticity, they’ll slide around and cause blisters.

How do you clean your sneakers?

Cleaning your sneakers will depend on the material at hand. FAQ sections for nearly any shoe you purchase online should have specific cleaning instructions. That said, leather can always be spot-cleaned with warm water and a brush, Canvas can occasionally survive in the washing machine, and a stain stick pen can be worthy spillage opponents for white sneakers. That said, your sneakers should be replaced with relative frequency, so any pair that feels filthy (read: smelly) beyond repair may simply be ready to retire.
