How I Chose the Best Bridesmaids’ Pajamas
To round up this list of bridesmaid pajama sets, I talked to Keane about features she would look for and recommend, anything she’d skip and the merits of choosing pajama sets over a robe. I also asked her to share brands her brides have purchased and loved. Considering her insight, I then looked for pajamas that fit the criteria and included several pairs I’ve worn over the past year and loved, too. My priorities were button-up shirts, camis and tanks that wouldn’t mess up your hair and makeup when it was time to get dressed, as well as materials (cotton, linen, silk and other soft, stretchy and/or breathable fabrics). 1. Clementine Organic Silk Pajama Set
I’m a big fan of Clementine’s silk, including their bonnets, pillowcases, scrunchies and eye masks. The brand sources 6A, 22 momme silk—aka the highest quality available—which is also GOTS-certified and made with OEKO-tex certified non-toxic dyes. The pajamas (along with the rest of the line) are plastic free. Buttons and other details are made from mother of pearl. The set is available in three colors and tops are outfitted with a breast pocket.
2. Piglet in Bed Linen Pajama Shorts Set
Planning a summer wedding? Hello, linen pajamas. I’ve been a big fan of Piglet in Bed’s new Tencel-linen blend sets, which have cute contrasting piping and lots of pockets. They’re available in 19 colors, but you can also buy tops and bottoms separately. These are great in warmer weather, especially if you run cold in the mornings. I find the combo of shorts with long sleeves is warm enough to keep me comfortable without overheating. If you’re between sizes, I recommend buying the top and bottom separately, and if you want something more fitted, size down.
3. Birdy Grey Jonny Pajama Set
Birdy Grey is a doyenne for all things wedding party at a price that doesn’t make your eyes water. (I’m looking at you, affordable bridesmaid dresses.) There are a plethora of cute, fun pajama sets and robes in a variety of styles, materials and colors. I wear the Jonny set on repeat, especially in spring and summer. The material is stretchy, soft and machine washable. Plus, there are three pockets. Birdy Grey’s sizing is also more inclusive than others, ranging from XS to 3X.
4. PACT Staycation Pajamas
I’ve been wearing some variation of PACT’s cotton pajamas for about a year now and can attest that they are stretchy, comfortable and cute. PACT commits to using organic cotton and offsetting its carbon emissions. Additionally, the brand is Fair Trade- and GOTS- certified. I find that the shorts and short-sleeve tops are true to size, but if you opt for pants and long sleeves, I’d order a size down for a more fitted look.
5. Uniqlo AIRism Pajamas
Uniqlo was my very first pair of “proper” pajamas and I wore them to literal shreds. Now, the brand has an updated version featuring its AIRism technology. It promises to be cool to the touch, smooth to the touch and keep you dry if you’re a sweaty sleeper. There are plenty of pockets and the top is a button-down, making for easy removal that won’t mess up hair and makeup. At $40, they also clock in as the most affordable on the list.
6. Nordstrom Moonlight Pajamas
Nordstrom’s Moonlight Pajamas are a favorite among PureWow readers and staffers. In fact, our affiliate director, Pam Masin, gifted these to her bridesmaids. “They all rave about them to this day,” she says. “They are incredibly soft and breathable. My only regret is not buying myself a pair. Hot tip, if you can wait to purchase them during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that typically happens in July, the price should go down to around $50. (This is also when they tend to launch new colors.)”

If you’re looking the best bridesmaids’ pajamas that are punchy and playful, Printfresh is the way to go. Their pajama shorts set has a relaxed fit and comes in a mind-boggling 29 different patterns, from champagne bottles and seashells to unicorns and leopards. The shorts are mid-rise with deep pockets, while the top is a button-up with piping and notched lapels.

Quince is known for its washable (and affordable) silk. Washable it is, as I’ve thrown my Quince silk blouse in the washing machine many times, and it always comes out looking good as new. They offer silk pajama separates that will run you about $100 total. While that’s a pretty penny for sleepwear, it’s a palatable price point as far as silk goes. Though there are no buttons on the sleep top, the halter neck is wide, allowing you to easily pass it over your heard.

SilkSilky’s belted pajama set has a convenient design. The top opens like a bathrobe, and the sash is quicker to manage than a row of buttons. This set is made of 19 momme mulberry silk and comes in three colors: pink, grey and white.

If you’re inclined to go the bathrobe route, PureWow Senior Director of Special Projects Rachel Bowie gifted her bridesmaids Eberjay bathrobes when she got married eight years ago. “They [seemed most practical for preserving our hair and makeup, while also being] pretty and matchy-matchy for pictures,” she says. “I got one for myself, too, in white, and only recently retired it from my closet. What to Consider When Shopping for Bridesmaid Pajama Sets
Pajamas or robes? “It ultimately boils down to personal preference and the vibe you want to create for your special day, but I lean more towards pajamas,” says Keane. Her reasoning? “You don’t need to wear anything underneath, which will prevent any bra marks when your bridal party puts their gowns on. Additionally, pajamas bring a relaxed and cozy atmosphere to the getting ready process, whereas robes feel slightly more formal.”
As for the materials, she advises avoiding polyester satin or poly-mix fabrics, which can trap sweat. Keane also skips fabrics that crease easily, unless you want a rustic look. Finally, you’ll want to opt for lower necklines, as higher cuts may ruin hair and makeup. Remember: button-downs and elastic are your friends.
