The 2 Zodiac Signs Most Likely to Win the Jackpot (and 2 That Should Stay Away from the Slots)
Who’s the luckiest zodiac sign? According to an analysis by GambLizard, that title belongs to Capricorns with 317 sea goats having won jackpots over $200,000 in 2022. When it comes to dollar amounts, Pisces are the most blessed with fishes having won a total of $14,570,420 in lotteries this year!
As an astrologer, I usually eye roll at stats like this—luck isn’t something indicated by a sun sign alone. If a client came to me asking about luck, I would look where Jupiter is or see what’s going on in the parts of the chart that rule windfalls: the fifth house (which includes speculative matters) and the eighth house (of inheritances and unearned income). Plus, there are certain transits that might bring a person more luck than usual! There are many variables that come into this—astrology is the study of both fate and fortune after all.
But! In looking over these particular stats, I had to laugh—this survey doesmake some astrological sense. Both Capricorn and Pisces have indications in the solar chart that would make them naturally lucky. Maybe these generalizations work sometimes! Let’s get into why Capricorn and Pisces are the most likely to win the jackpot, and using that same logic, the two signs that should stay away from the slots.
The 2 Luckiest Zodiac Signs: Capricorn and Pisces
You can find pretty much any part of a person’s life in a birth chart from their appearance to their health to their career. You can also figure out if someone is predisposed to win the lotto. All speculative matters (including gambling, betting, horse-racing, lotteries, game shows etc.) are matters of the fifth house. The fifth house is more commonly associated with things like children, romance and creativity, but what all of those things have in common is that they’re things we create through our desires. Our literal and figurative babies. The fifth house is a place that’s first and foremost about fun and pleasure, and gambling at its core is a game. The fifth house is a place of growth and both Capricorn and Pisces have very fertile fifth houses.
Capricorn’s fifth house is Taurus—the grounded, fixed earth sign that signals the most lush and abundant part of spring. Like a bull lying comfortably in an open field, Taurus can also be slow and stubborn. Because of this Taurus influence, Capricorns are picky about what they indulge and want only the best. Capricorns aren’t going to buy lotto tickets on a whim, but they will use their grounded intuition to enter contests they feel good about winning. Case in point, Capricorn is the zodiac sign most represented in winners of Survivor with eight champions out of 44 seasons being sea goats, including the first woman to win Tina Wesson and franchise favorite, Boston Rob Mariano.
Pisces’ fifth house is Cancer—the sign that marks the beginning of the summer. Ancient astrologers signaled the start of Cancer season via the annual flooding of the Nile River, so even the sign’s earliest roots are symbols of peak fertility. Pisces are already extremely intuitive, but having their fifth house in fellow water sign Cancer makes them especially sensitive to the ebb and flow of fortune. Like Taurus, Pisces might be more careful about which lotteries they enter but when they have a good feeling, it’s likely to be a win.
Pisces and Capricorn both have a keen intuition that leads them straight to the pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. But there are other signs where the idea of luck is more of a wildcard.
The 2 Signs That Should Skip the Slot Machine: Sagittarius and Aquarius
Sagittarius should be a lucky sign, they’re ruled by luck planet Jupiter after all. But Sagittarius’ fifth house is Aries—the first and (arguably) most hot-headed fire sign in the zodiac. This makes Sagittarians competitive and impulsive when it comes to playing games. Though sometimes they bet at the right moment, lightning rarely strikes twice.
Aquarius on the other hand has the sign of Gemini ruling the fifth house making them a bit scattered and duplicitous when it comes to playing their luck. This same influence may also be what makes them seem both noncommittal in romance and enviable jacks-of-all-trades in their creativity.
It’s not that Sagittarius and Aquarius are unlucky, but they should definitely think twice before buying yet another lotto ticket or applying to go on their favorite game show. (Another case in point: there has only been one Survivor winner born under the archer’s sign). Sagittarians go in too confident while Aquarians have more of a devil-may-care attitude. Both of these mindsets can muddy one’s intuition which is a big part of what luck is.
