The community of Savannah, Georgia, is applauding two young boys who stepped up and kindly helped a family of baby ducks stuck in a storm drain.

On Monday night, Savannah police were responding to an animal complaint when they realized two local heroes had already taken on the case. Derrick and Noah, identified by the police department, were helping the eight baby ducks escape from a storm drain. After an officer joined in on their quest to free the birds, they were able to remove the storm grate and ensure the safety of every duck involved.

According to the police department's Facebook post, the ducks have been taken to a wildlife preserve, and all that's left to do is praise these two boys for their act of kindness.

"Let's give Derrick and Noah some love for stepping up yesterday and making sure these cute little ducks were safe!" the department shared.

While the good news is quickly spreading across the states, reaching commenters in Texas, New York, and beyond, one Savanna native wrote, "Great Job young men keep up the good work. Hometown Heroes Derrick and Noah."
