With this week's return of Emily in Paris, fans of the Netflix series have found a new thing to swoon over. And no, it's not a handsome love interest. Emily in Paris viewers have been won over by the Kir Royale cocktail.
This season, Emily and friends were spotted with the ruby-hued cocktail during a scene that took place below the Ferris wheel at the Place de la Concorde, a public square in Paris.
Popular in France, the Kir Royale is a two-ingredient cocktail made with Creme de Cassis (black currant liqueur) and champagne. To whip up a Kir Royale, simply pour Creme de Cassis in a champagne flute and top with the bubbly of your choice.
People of course had some hot takes given the sudden interest in the cocktail. One user on Twitter believes it might even be possible for the Kir Royale to tear Americans away from the Aperol Sprtiz, a drink that only became more popular during the Sicily-set second season of The White Lotus.
"Watch how Paris is going to be full of tourists drinking Kir Royale next summer. Aperol Spiritz [sic], out! I also suspect this ugly beret will be everywhere. And bring your Lysol wipes if you’re going to ride the Grande Roue," @Loic_Bourdeau tweeted.
Some predict that the Kir Royale may also replace the Negroni Sbgliato with Prosecco, which was made popular after House of the Dragon star Emma D'Arcy revealed that it's their drink of choice.

And then there are those who are surprised that it's taken this long for Emily to get her hands on a Kir Royale.
Emily has been in Paris for 3 years and she doesn’t know what a kir royale is?! #EmilyInParis
