New year, new me.

Just kidding. I'm still the same, but I chose to avoid New Year's resolutions this year, and I love that for me!

I could write a book about why I made that decision, but here are 19 reasons instead.

1.I can make small goals throughout the year.

I choose not to focus on one big goal and instead make multiple small ones throughout the year. It is less stressful because they're easier to achieve, and achieving various goals can be more fulfilling.

2.I have goals from last year I'd like to complete.

Yes, goals can roll over into the new year, and there should be no expiration date on what you want to accomplish. There are two goals I didn't get to in 2022 that I would love to achieve this year.

3.I previously made resolutions that resulted in disappointment.

There is nothing worse than disappointing yourself. In the past, I made a resolution that I did not stick with and felt like a failure. It sounds dramatic, but I don't want to feel like that again.

4.I'm an overthinker.

Just by reading the first few reasons, you can already tell I overthink too much. Making a New Year's resolution may be simple for others, but it's a process for me.

5.I'm journaling and tapping into manifestations.

I feel like journaling has helped me achieve a lot of goals. I don't need a resolution when I can write my thoughts often and tap into manifestations.

6.I think it's a little crazy to focus on improving once a year.

I understand that a new year is a fresh start for many people, but it would be crazy of me to only focus on improving my life at the beginning of the year.

7.Life is currently a little hectic, and I would forget the resolution.

When you have a lot to do, it's easy to forget things that aren't urgent. For me, it would be the resolution.

8.There's a lot of planning that goes into these things.

You need a plan in order to be all in with New Year's resolutions. I'm sure I didn't stick with some of my previous goals because I tried to jump right into them in the new year.

9.I found that some resolutions are unhealthy.

They're supposed to help you grow and improve your mindset, but some resolutions are unhealthy. There are a few that can affect an individual mentally.

10.My previous resolutions were unrealistic, and a tad bit dramatic.

This is my fault; I like to dream big. So, I made the most unrealistic goal possible a few years ago, and I cringe just thinking about it. So, I'm staying far away from resolutions.

11.I learned a new year doesn't make a difference if you're unwilling to grow.

If you're not willing to grow, resolutions are futile. There were some things I had difficulty changing, and I thought making a resolution in the new year would bring some good energy. I was wrong. I've changed now, of course.

12.It's not the end of the world if I don't create one.

Sometimes, it's OK not to hop on trends. The world will be just fine without me having a resolution.

13.Resolutions make me impatient.

Have you ever created a goal and got impatient with how long the process to achieve it takes? That's me with these yearly goals.

14.My procrastination tends to peak when I make them.

There's something about New Year's resolutions that makes me want to wait 'til the last minute to get started on them.

15.I'm choosing to listen to motivational podcasts instead.

16.They're kind of stressful.

With the past two years of my life being stolen by a pandemic, I don't need the extra stress of a resolution.

17.I need to be honest with myself.

2023 is the year of honesty, right? Well, the truth is that I don't need a resolution.

18.I'm confident my life can improve this year without a resolution.

I genuinely believe good time management, a drive to succeed, and discipline is all I need to fulfill my goals this year.

19.I simply don't feel like it.

Sometimes, a simple reason is the best reason.

A New Year's resolution does not guarantee anything, but if you have one, I hope you're successful.
