I know how much Kat's poem tugs at the heartstrings, and the fact that Julia Stiles was genuinely brought to tears by it makes this scene even better. However, that doesn't change the fact that the poem's final line sounds weird.
17."Why would you want to marry me for, anyhow?" / "So I can kiss you anytime I want." — Sweet Home Alabama
Look, I know these lines were spoken by kids, but come on.

This film is supposed to be a modern-day fairy tale, but no real modern woman would give an answer like this.

Originally, Andie was supposed to end up with Duckie instead of Blane, and this line from the latter makes part of us wish that was what happened. This quote sounds like something a robot would say just as it learned to love instead of a regular teenage boy.
12."I'd rather fight with you than make love with anyone else." — The Wedding Date
Sometimes, having a fight with someone means you shouldn't even be with them. But all in all, this quote from Dermot Mulroney sounds bland and just plain wrong, especially considering that his character is a male escort.
11."Nice boys don't kiss like that." / "Oh yes, they fucking do." — Bridget Jones's Diary
Though this film was based on the novel by Helen Fielding, Mark's response in the film's final conversation sounds like it was written by a college frat boy. This quote doesn't sound like something a grown man would say in real life, and it really undercuts the romance of Bridget and Mark's climactic kiss.
10.“I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” — Notting Hill
This is probably one of the most memorable lines from this Julia Roberts classic, but some people don't remember it so fondly. I get it's supposed to be sweet, but this line reduces Roberts' character to a little girl begging for her Prince Charming to love her. It even looks like she's having trouble keeping a straight face as she says it.
9."It's really funny, actually. Like, I was not into him at first. He used to shoot spit wads at me in Spanish class, which is, like, so junior high. But one night, when I was brushing out my hair, I found this spit wad, but it was really a note, and it said: 'What's up?' And I was like: 'That is so cute.'" — Valentine's Day
Not the kind of story you want to tell your kids.
8.“So Margaret, marry me. Because I’d like to date you.” — The Proposal
For one thing, saying "marry me" instead of asking someone if they would do it sounds forceful and really backs them into a corner. But after that, this line really fails to stick the landing. And Deadpool here knows a thing or two about bad landings.
7.“He is the cheese to my macaroni.” — Juno
Talk about cheesy. I get this line is supposed to be the kind of thing that a nerdy teenager would come up with, but this line would even make Urkel say, "Really?"
6."Kevin, this is possibly the most adorable creature I've ever been in contact with, and if she turns out even to be as good-looking as a mailbox, I'd be crazy not to turn my life upside down and marry her." — You've Got Mail
So then, you'd marry a mailbox? The filmmakers really took the mail-related premise a little too far with this line, and to have the great Tom Hanks utter it is especially egregious.
5."I'll just be hanging around the mistletoe, hoping to be kissed." — Love Actually
Gee, thanks for clarifying that. I thought you were just gonna try the guacamole.
4.“Any man, anytime, has the chance to sweep a woman off her feet. He just needs the right broom.” — Hitch
Did the person who wrote this line even know what that idiom meant? What he's describing is tripping someone. He's saying guys should trip women. But I guess we should expect this from a movie about a man who teaches other men to lie to women to help them get lucky.
3.“Is it still raining? I hadn’t noticed.” — Four Weddings and a Funeral
I don't care how lovestruck you are. You will definitely notice a downpour like that. And this line is only made worse by Andie MacDowell's wooden delivery. While Four Weddings and a Funeral is considered one of the best rom-com movies out there, you can't deny that this line fell a little flat.
2.“I’m gonna treat you like my own personal jungle gym.” — The Kissing Booth 2
Was this supposed to be sexy? I'm still trying to figure out that image in my brain. And it just sounds like this line was written by a little kid, which makes this seduction even more uncomfortable to watch.
1.“It’s turkey time. Gobble gobble.” — Gigli
Seriously, I cringed just typing this quote. Gigli is widely considered one of the worst films of all time, and in a film full of cringe-inducing lines, this one has been forever burned into our minds like a turkey in the oven.
