And for less strenuous activities, like lounging by the pool or beach, you may want to turn to a supportive slide or flip-flop.
No matter what activity you’ll be using them for, Fishkin advises skipping sandals with a completely flat sole. Instead, choose options — such as any pairs from Birkenstock — that have a heel cup, arch support, underfoot cushioning and plenty of room in the toe.
