Your pantry is incomplete without essentials like ketchup, mustard and soy sauce. But heck, you’ve gotten so good at the condiment game you’re stocking fancier items like tahini and fish sauce on the reg, too. Just about any food can be made better when paired with the right sauce, dressing, spread or topping, but some condiments blow the basics way out of the water. To get your shopping list started, here are 18 of the best condiments on Amazon that our editors would lick right off the spoon (or um, eat straight from the jar...).

10 Hot Dog Toppings That Aren’t Ketchup and Mustard

The Best Condiments on Amazon at a Glance

How We Chose the Best Condiments on Amazon

We pooled our snack-loving editors for their favorite sauces, seasonings, spreads and beyond to start our list. Then, our food team narrowed the selection down further using their industry expertise and Amazon reviews.

1. TRUFF Truffle Mayo

Amazon

We thought upgrading to Kewpie (aka the cult-favorite Japanese mayo made with MSG and egg yolks instead of whole eggs) was the end of the mayo-lined road for us. Then we tried Truff Mayo, an umami-rich spread made with organic eggs, sunflower oil and black winter truffles. It'll add complex, savory flavor to everything from potato salad to salad dressings, but our favorite way to use it is on breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese and a hash brown. (Oh, and if you’re always adding a few dashes of hot sauce to your sandwiches anyway, spring for the Spicy Truff Mayo instead, which includes red jalapeños.)

2. Mike’s Hot Honey

Amazon

Swicy (aka sweet and spicy) foods have been reigning supreme since last summer, and rich, luscious honey infused with hot peppers is essentially the pinnacle of that flavor profile. Mike’s is made with pure honey, vinegar and chiles, so it offers just the right amount of sweetness, heat and zing in every drop. PureWow senior food editor Katherine Gillen says it’s especially divine on pizza, fried chicken and mac and cheese.

3. Hoff & Pepper’s Smoken Ghost Ketchup

Amazon

We first became familiar with Hoff’s when embarking on a massive hot sauce taste-test. The brand’s Smoken Ghost Hot Sauce uses four types of Tennessee chiles—red jalapeño, habanero, chipotle and ghost pepper—to achieve a creeping heat and smoky flavor profile that lend themselves beautifully to avocado toast, egg salad and beyond. Hoff’s Smoken Ghost Ketchup is just as versatile and authentic, since it’s free of weird thickeners and high fructose corn syrup, unlike some other ketchups on the market.

4. Ken’s Steak House Honey Mustard

Honey mustard may seem simple enough to pull off at home: It’s just a matter of whisking together the right amounts of honey and mustard, right? Think again, sauce-loving friends. The creamiest, tangiest honey mustards are mayo-based, and Ken’s is no exception since it’s largely made up of vinegar and egg yolks. Dijon mustard and mustard seed handle the condiment’s savory side, while sweet honey rounds out their zippiness. Honey mustard pairs well with fried fish, deli meat, fries and apples, but our favorite application is on shatteringly crisp chicken fingers, obvi.

5. Fly By Jing Sichuan Chili Crisp

Amazon

Chili crisp was one of the hottest condiments of 2021. There are plenty of delicious brands out there (lookin' at you, Lao Gan Ma and S&B), but Fly By Jing's is arguably the most popular. Their recipe is unique, as it honors chile crisp’s traditional elements, while also incorporating more modern, natural ingredients like fermented black bean, mushroom powder, seaweed and ginger. Ginger gives it a uniquely fresh heat, while the rest impart a ton of umami.

6. Bravado Serrano & Basil Hot Sauce

Amazon

There's no shortage of hot sauce on Amazon, but we love this one for its one-of-a-kind herbaceous profile and medium heat. "I tried it at a makers market in Greenpoint a couple of weeks ago and immediately bought a bottle," says editorial assistant Delia Curtis. "The flavor profile is magnificent. It's got a basil-y, herby taste, similar to Italian seasoning in hot sauce form. It tastes like spicy pizza sauce, so naturally I’ve been adding it as a topping to my pizza. But it could be added to anything for nice, green flavor with a kick."

7. Somos Salsa Macha

Amazon

We already adore Somos for their gluten-free, vegan twists on traditional Mexican foods. And these spicy, crunchy condiments give us one more reason to love the brand. Packed with avocado oil, guajillo and arbol chiles, roasted almonds and two types of seeds, the O.G. salsa macha can be drizzled over everything from eggs and pizza to tacos and sandwiches (or even vanilla ice cream). The two-pack also includes the mango-pineapple variety, which is made with morita and pasilla peppers and real fruit.

8. Momofuku Soy Sauce & Tamari

Amazon

Supermarket soy sauce has nothing on this restaurant-grade pantry staple. After all, it took ten years for the Momofuku Culinary Lab to get these gems just right. Made from organic ingredients, the soy sauce and tamari are steeped with kombu, an edible kelp famous for its umami-rich flavor, for maximum depth. (ICYMI, the condiments are very similar, but tamari is gluten-free.)

9. Graza Drizzle Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Amazon

Don't let the squeeze bottle fool you—this EVOO is the real deal. Made with Spanish Picual olives, Graza's cooking and finishing oils inspire home cooks to use as much as they please, unlike other fancy, pricier brands that make you want to use no more than one drop at a time. Sizzle is the brand's olive oil that's meant for cooking, but we consider Drizzle a condiment because it's designed to be used in raw applications, like dips, garnishes and dressings.

10. Acid League Meyer Lemon-Honey Living Vinegar

Amazon

Zap your gut into shape with this raw vinegar that's loaded with living bacterial cultures. This particular variety is endlessly versatile and can be used in marinades, tonics and raw applications, thanks to its notes of bergamot, citrus peel, honeycomb and chamomile. The Meyer lemon offers bright acidity and citrusy bitterness, while honey rounds it out with a touch of sweetness. Paired with punchy fermented vinegar, you won't want to waste a single drop once you taste it.

11. Tajín

Amazon

"There’s nothing like a generous sprinkling of this spice across your fresh-cut fruit from a vendor here in Los Angeles," asserts senior editor Dana Dickey. "I enjoy it the same way at home, and also on baked chicken wings." Equal parts salty, spicy and sour, Tajín is made from mild chili peppers, lime and sea salt. Amp its flavor up with an additional squeeze of fresh lime juice.

12. Underwood Ranches Dragon Sriracha

Amazon

Yes, Huy Fong is responsible for sriracha's ubiquity, but former senior podcast producer Matt Bogart loves Underwood Ranches Sriracha for its subtle citrus notes and signature bite. For the uninitiated, sriracha is a hot sauce usually made from chili pepper paste, vinegar, pickled garlic, sugar and salt. Red jalapeño peppers, sugar, salt and garlic keep this one balanced and pleasantly hot.

13. Melinda’s Spicy Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce

Amazon

Former social media strategist Ali Brown swears by all of Melinda’s condiments, which range from barbecue sauces to preserves. But the Spicy Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce has her heart. It strikes the optimal balance of heat and flavor, so the habanero doesn’t drown out all the herbs and garlic. Toss chicken wings in the sauce as the name suggests, or slather it on pasta, pizza, breadsticks and sandwiches. (BTW, assistant editor Nakeisha Campbell’s favorite is Melinda’s Black Truffle Hot Sauce, thanks to its creamy consistency and bold, truffle-forward flavor. She loves adding it to salads for a welcome kick.)

14. Tapatío

Amazon

Sometimes, less is more—and this simple mix of red peppers, salt, spices and garlic is proof. "You won’t catch me without my Tapatío bottle," says associate fashion commerce editor Stephanie Meraz. "I once stuffed a five-ounce bottle in my Fendi baguette because I refuse to accept that restaurants don't carry it...They even sell a travel pack of 75 packets, which I should probably purchase so I can avoid the Fendi x Tapatío mashup again."

15. Bitchin’ Sauce

Amazon

Who knew a vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free dip could be so creamy and indulgent? Bitchin’ Sauce’s savory base features fatty almonds and grapeseed oil for a rich texture, while garlic, spices, lemon juice and nutritional yeast offer flavor, acidity and salt without any cheese. There are also spinach-artichoke, chipotle and cilantro-chili iterations, but the O.G. is pretty damn flawless. Director of branded content Cristina Gutierrez loves slathering it on sandwiches and using it as a garlicky dip for chips and veggies.

16. J.L. Kraft Chipotle Aioli

Amazon

It's easy enough to make your own spicy mayo in a pinch, as long as you have a go-to hot sauce on deck, but more than 11,000 five-star ratings of this Amazon condiment may convince you to buy a pre-mixed one. Made with soybean oil, vinegar, garlic, lemon juice and real chipotle pepper puree, its flavor strikes the jackpot between spicy and smoky.

17. A.1. Original Steak Sauce

Amazon

A.1. is the gold standard when it comes to steak sauce for a reason—that reason being its uniquely bold yet nuanced flavor. The ingredients include usual suspects like tomato paste, vinegar and dried garlic, as well as a few surprises (hello, raisin paste and crushed orange puree). Together, they create a condiment that’s equal parts savory, sweet, acidic and spicy. Commerce editor Liv Kappler loves how A.1.’s thick consistency and unique flavor complement roasted potatoes and chicken.

18. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

Amazon

There are endless variations of buttermilk-based dressings spiked with herbs and spices at the supermarket, but in the words of operations director of branded content Rachel Gulmi, Hidden Valley’s is “simply the best.” There’s egg yolk and buttermilk in the mix, as well as dried mustard, garlic and onion, making it one of the creamiest and most flavorful we've tasted. Not only do we love putting the dressing on salads and sandwiches and using it as a dip, but we’re also obsessed with Hidden Valley’s ranch seasoning packets. They’re just the ticket for sprucing up chicken breading (and TikTokkers love it dusted onto Flamin’ Hot Cheetos).
