18 Beauty Brands Standing Up for the LGBTQ+ Community This Pride Month

As queer people, Pride Month makeup collections can sometimes feel like they're less about celebrating our identities and more about profiting off of them. If anything, this flood of performative rainbow-covered products (most of which we don't actually want or need, tbqh) makes it more challenging to find queer-owned brands truly deserving of our support. While it shouldn't be our duty to decipher which products actually benefit the LGBTQ+ community and which don't, the burden falls on us as consumers to separate the good, the bad and the genuinely gay.

That's why I created this little guide of LGBTQ+-owned beauty brands and beauty industry allies that are giving back to organizations like The Trevor Project, GLSEN and Ali Forney Center this year. From rainbow zit stickers and special-edition hair oils to Pride makeup ideas galore, you'll find all the best Pride Month beauty below.

Pride Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner

For Pride Month 2023, Glow Recipe has committed $30,000 in donations to the It Gets Better Project, a non-profit that aims "to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth around the globe." Viva Glam Lipstick

Year-round, 100% of Viva Glam Lipstick sales are donated to the M∙A∙C Viva Glam Fund, which helps fund local organizations supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Over the past 27 years, they've raised over $500,000,000 globally.

Pride Limited-Edition L’Huile Original Hair Oil

Kérastase is on a mission to change the world—and your hair—for the better with a limited-edition version of its Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil and a $25,000 donation to The Trevor Project. Among many things, the organization provides free, confidential crisis counseling to LGBTQ+ youth.

Kim Chi X Trixie BFF4Evr: MVPalette

It's easy to fall in love with the bright, colorful world of KimChi Chic Beauty, a makeup brand from former RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Kim Chi. All year long, 2% of all sales—including collabs with fellow RuGirls like Trixie Mattel, Plastique Tiara and Naomi Smalls—are donated to The Trevor Project.

Vivid Brights Colored Liquid Eyeliner

NYX Cosmetics' Proud Allies for All program works in partnership with the Los Angeles LGBT Center year-round to provide resources to LGBTQ youth and allyship training to over 10,000 individuals. Leland Francis' new Pansy scent reclaims a term traditionally used to belittle the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout the month of June, the brand will be donating 100% of proceeds from the scent (both in candle and perfume form) to organizations like the Ali Forney Center, the LA LGBT Center and SAGE.

Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer

Keep your Pride parade makeup locked in place with Milk Makeup's cult-favorite Hydro Grip Primer. Through its ongoing 1% pledge, the brand has donated more than $200,000 to The Center—and it's doubling its donation this June to ensure the NYC-based LGBTQ+ community center receives the funding it rightfully deserves.
