I Would Immediately Demand A Refund After Walking Into Any Of These 17 Vacation Rental Homes

Short-term vacation rental homes can either be a cost-saving measure for large families who'd love access to a kitchen, or the bane of a traveler's existence — and today, we'll be talking about the latter. Here are 17 vacation rental homes that should be shut down IMMEDIATELY:

1.This host is offering a "room" that's literally just a makeshift box in a corner of their house.

A boxed off area saying "Your room"

No, seriously, there's just a mattress on the ground and two walls made out of comforters.

2.This host is either evil reincarnate or just someone who wants to make sure all guests are equipped in the case of an intruder.

3.All of the water in this rental is yellow and has what guests described as a "metallic taste."

4.This host screwed a mirror into the bathroom ceiling, and it's conveniently right above the toilet.

5.This house was riddled with cockroaches.

6.A motion-detecting camera was installed above a mirror in this vacation rental, and hosts included a $500 charge for any tampering or unplugging of the device on their fee sheet.

7. This host DIY'd their own shower tile, but it's just rocks and dirt from outside.

9.This home boasted a hot tub on its listing, but failed to mention that it's never cleaned.

10.Speaking of cleanliness, this home's host was offended when guests sent pictures of dirt they'd mopped up throughout the house and said Swiffers always pick up grime — even if the home is spotless — and that these photos are not "an indicator of dirt."

11.This home's host told guests that they could access the home via a key safe near the front door...

12.This guest paid extra for a rental "with a sea view," and this is what they got.

13.Here's a knife found in this rental home.

14.This guest had to squeeze their way around the sink to sit on the toilet.

15.This host skipped mounting their TV and placed it far beyond eye level.

16.Many choose vacation rental homes over hotels because they come with a kitchen, but no cooking is going to be done in this place where the oven can't even be fully opened.

17.And finally, no one will be peeing in peace at this poorly-put-together home.

Now, I'm curious — what's the worst vacation rental experience you've had? Tell me about it in the comments.
