“When searching for your next long-wearing lip, there are a few things you want to take into consideration, but the most important is to look for a formula that isn’t too drying,” says celebrity makeup artist Allan Aponte. Select moisturizing ingredients and bases, like oils and butters, Aponte says. And a long-lasting lipstick won’t be a long-lasting lipstick if you don’t properly prep, he adds. Go for a lip exfoliating scrub and apply a moisturizer underneath the lip color to make sure you have a smooth canvas.
