Fashion's biggest night? Based on signature the hair, makeup, and nail looks that hit the 2023 Met Gala red carpet tonight, we'd argue that it's also beauty's biggest night. This year's theme honors the creations of late designer Karl Lagerfeld—and in beauty, that translates to everything from classic, fresh faced makeup, dark manicures affixed with chains, and even hand-crafted prosthetics mirroring the designer's beloved cat, Choupette. "With Phoebe, the process of creating her look for the Met Gala was very organic. When I first saw the dress at the fitting, I was instantly inspired by a sultry smoky eye," Ceciliato says in a statement. Pink lips are the theme of the night! We love how Precious Lee paired her beauty look with a gorgeous leather headband. Her hair was crafted by stylist Mideyah Parker using Pattern. "Aiming to hit that perfect rich chocolate luxurious hair color, I customized a unit using a circle color application and painted some ‘peek a boo’ highlights around the hairline to mirror that iconic Campbell [Chanel Spring/ Summer 1994] look," Parker says in a statement. "I layered in a chunky slice of color in the back to give a little more drama with the swirls of caramel and light blonde highlights throughout. Using a total of four formulas.''

He was a visionary who loved lines and futurism and always infused touches of color into his collections at Chanel, one of which was pink," Abergel says in a statement. Another of our favorite ponytails of the evening, supermodel Karlie Kloss's sleek, center parted style was crafted by Irinel de León, and accented with a Chanel-inspired bow.
"Karlie’s custom Loewe dress is very symmetrical with strong shoulders and adorned with beautiful pearls, therefore we wanted to keep the hair simple by pulling it off her face and shoulders,” de Leon says in a statement. “The middle-part ponytail is polished and provides additional symmetry by keeping it low and finishing with a Jennifer Behr bow. The texture of the ponytail itself is very French and undone; an ode to Karl, Chanel, its effortlessness, and sophistication.

"Priyanka is incredibly glamorous, so we wanted to lean into that with a classic and modern glam with a deep side part and hair pulled back with deconstructed Lelet NYC ribbons," Brager says in a statement. "I left one textured piece out on the side and flat ironed until smooth."
