With more and more national retailers choosing to close on Thanksgiving in order to give their employees time off to spend with their families, it can be difficult to know which major stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day 2023. Many stores that have historically been open on Thanksgiving — including Walmart, Best Buy, and Michaels — have since changed their Thanksgiving policies. This is great for those who work in retail, as they now get to spend the holiday with loved ones, but it can be difficult for customers who need to buy last-minute items for their Thanksgiving menu. Grocery Stores Open on Thanksgiving 2023

  • ACME Market: No worries if you forgot to stock up on drinks; ACME locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Albertsons: You'll be able to pick up a full holiday dinner, or the one ingredient you forgot. Just check your local store for hours.

  • Harris Teeter: All out of essential supplies? All Harris Teeter stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Jewel-Osco: Make a good impression on the in-laws by grabbing their favorite ground coffee on Thanksgiving morning. Check your local Jewel-Osco for their exact hours.

  • Kroger: Stock up on canned goods and spices at Kroger, which will be open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Meijer: If you forgot to purchase dessert, all Meijer stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Ralphs: Need to dash into Ralphs for a few final items? Most stores will be open from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.

  • Safeway: If you need a last-minute ingredient for one of your favorite dishes, Safeway is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
