With coffee playing a big role in many of our daily routines, an impactful way to show up for Black-owned businesses is to stock up on roasts created by the leading brands in this space. We've rounded up 20 Black-owned coffee companies to support year-round.

OG Guji Mane

Started by Bartholomew Jones and Renata Henderson, Cxffeeblack's mission is to reclaim the Black history of coffee and reimagine its Black future. OG Guji Mane was grown by Black farmers in the town of Uraga in the Guji Zone of Oromia in Ethiopia. It has notes of passionfruit, papaya, nougat, caramel, and dark chocolate and pairs perfectly with your morning rap playlist.

Kenyan Whole Coffee Beans

Through her grandfather's legacy, Kahawa 1893 founder Margaret Nyamumbo created the Kenyan-derived and San Francisco-based brand after she studied abroad in the United States. The result is a line of coffees that offers a range of flavors and roasts.

The Kenyan is a light-medium whole bean coffee that is flavor-rich, with hints of caramel, chocolate, sugar, berries, and bright citrus, and was farmed by women farmers.

House Blend Coffee

From her Domaine Curry alcohol brand to Caribbean superfood-powered skincare line, Ayesha Curry is no stranger to creating quality products with carefully sourced ingredients. One Love 100% Ethiopian Medium Roast Coffee

The son of reggae artist Bob Marley, entrepreneur and founder Rohan Marley has infused his father's legacy into the coffee industry for the last 15 years. Entrepreneur Keba Konte launched Red Bay Coffee in 2014 to help spread equity within the coffee industry. Their mission is to support diversity, inclusion, social and economic restoration, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability. Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee

Lifelong friends Pernell and Rod founded Blk & Bold to celebrate their immeasurable love for coffee and tea. They created the brand as a way to give back to the community and support young people. The dark roast comes in whole beans and has a flavor profile of tart citric acidity, smooth, and sweet bell pepper, and a heavy body.

Single Origin Haitian Coffee

Nova Rwanda Coffee

"Boon" and "Boona" mean coffee in different dialects of East Africa, and the brand Boon Boona Coffee shares coffee traditions from the region. Their Nova blend comes from the Gicumbi region in Northern Province, Rwanda, and is dry-processed, so the coffee cherries are dried in the sun.

Honeybear (Dominican Republic)

Bad Beans Coffee is the brainchild of Derek McKeith, and was inspired by his experiences working as a barista. This Honeybear blend uses coffee beans cultivated in the Dominican Republic and has smooth and fruity flavors.

Starry Night

Founded by Quincy Henry, the goal of Campfire Coffee is to bring you fun coffee inspired by outdoor experiences. The brand's Starry Night single origin FTO comes from Ethiopia and has a complex, rich flavor. It's best enjoyed as a pour over or brewed in a French press.

Dark and Lovely

Since 2015, Mochabox has brought great coffee to its consumers. The brand started after Floyd Sartin and Harlin Thomas noticed the lack of African-American coffee makers. The Dark and Lovely single origin roast comes from Haiti and represents the beautiful Black people across the diaspora. It has hints of hazelnut and cocoa and a bold, dark flavor.

Lexington Blend

Black Acres Roastery is an artisan, Baltimore-based roaster with a mission of bringing out the best qualities of coffee beans from around the world. This blend pays tribute to Baltimore's Lexington market, which dates back to the late-1700s, and has notes of cherry cordials, praline, and chocolate as an homage to the institution's rich history

North Star Roast

Sailor's Brew is where motivation meets coffee. Created by Trevon Sailor, the brand offers pure, natural coffee without added flavors.
