Ray-Ban Aviator Classic Sunglasses

This season, I decided I deserved a new pair of sunnies. So, what’s a girl to do but check out the huge selection on Sunglass Hut? Though I tend to gravitate more toward oversized acetate frames, like these from Tom Ford, I was feeling nostalgic and settled on a pair of Ray-Ban aviators in Gold/Green. Channeling my inner Carrie Bradshaw, I’m thrilled with how easy these classic sunglasses pair with everything — and always project a chic silhouette. I can don them by the pool or on the beach, wear them with my trench coat and even pop them on my head as a perfect hairband/accessory. Plus, they are always a (somewhat) affordable option if you want to stick to a designer name. — Tobey Grumet Segal, editor, reviews

Crap Eyewear The Heavy Tropix Sunglasses

I’ve never spent more than $15 on a pair of sunglasses. (In fact, for a while, I rocked with a pair I found for free in the underbrush on a hiking trail.) But when the time came for an updated, and admittedly cuter, pair of sunnies, I thought maybe there might be something to investing in a more quality pair of shades. After much research, I decided to go with this Heavy Tropix pair from Crap Eyewear. I liked that these glasses have a classic look and feel with a variety of color options, plus polarized lenses. And I liked Crap Eyewear’s commitment to making sunglasses a more environmentally sustainable purchase. Since then, these glasses have joined me on international vacations, daily errands and summer days in the park. They go with everything, always look good and come with a chic case that helps me keep them undamaged and scratch-free. I fall in love again with every wear. — Jillian Tracy, associate editor

EyeBuyDirect Seah Sunglasses

I'm approaching four years with these classic prescription sunnies from EyeBuyDirect, and I still have no reason to move on to something new. Tortoise isn’t going out of style, and for an affordable price — $69 with lenses, though there’s always some sort of sale at EBD — this pair has been shockingly durable. It’s survived hot days in the car, cramped trips in a backpack and countless on-and-off swaps whenever I switch back to regular glasses. Whenever they do bite the dust, I’ll be copping another frame from our favorite site for prescription glasses, for sure. — Joe Bloss, editorial coordinator

Toms Paloma Sunglasses

My mom gifted me a pair of Toms sunglasses back when I was in college, and I’ve been a devotee ever since. I find them to be incredibly sturdy — many a pair has survived being carelessly tossed in a bag — and generally unfussy. I’ve had the Palomas in various forms and colors for years, and they’re still my go-to after all this time. — Chelsea Stone, editorial director

Ombraz Classic Armless Sunglasses

I absolutely love these sunglasses, and they’re my go-to pair for one huge reason: They never fall off. Ombraz sunglasses don’t have arms and instead utilize a paracord to keep the lenses on your face. I wasn’t sure if I would like this swap at first, but after wearing them all last summer, they’re my favorite pair by far. Since arms are often the weak point of sunglasses, the paracord also means that Ombraz are ultra durable; I’ve even stomped on my pair and they’re still good as new. I wish there were more styles to fit more face shapes, but I think they’re the best pair for people who want sunglasses that will stay on through any adventure. — Kai Burkhardt, outdoors, sustainability and pet editor

I’ve gotten compliments on these sunglasses all around the world. They’re one of my favorite pairs to bring traveling because they are surprisingly versatile and make any outfit look cooler. Whether at the beach or sightseeing, the Ryders have held up to a variety of activities. They’re also great quality for the price — I feel like I don’t have to be precious with them and can just throw them in my bag. While my Black/Orange colorway is sold out, they come in three other iterations that are just as chic. — Sophie Shaw, associate beauty editor

Between tossing them in my everyday bag or jamming them inside my carry-on, I’m constantly in shock at how long these affordable (but cute!), under-$100 sunnies have lasted me. Both minimalist and timeless, this enduring pair comes with me everywhere I go. — Stephanie Griffin, director of social

Warby Parker Nancy Sunglasses

I can’t see without my prescription glasses, so shopping for sunglasses is always difficult. I can’t just pick up a cute pair from any old store! I’ve been buying my regular glasses from Warby Parker for over six years, and I recently started getting my sunnies from the brand too. I was so impressed by the variety of stylish frames, but I chose the Nancy sunglasses in Palm Crystal (a pretty green hue), and I’m obsessed. I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on them so far! You can also get sunglasses from Warby Parker without a prescription, so people who wear contacts (or are lucky enough to have perfect eyesight) can get them too. — Amina Lake Abdelrahman, home and gifts editor

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of sunglasses for what feels like months. After stopping in every Ray-Ban store or Sunglass Hut, I finally decided to look online. I have a big head, so most sunglasses do not have a big enough frame to fit me comfortably and look good. After searching high and low, I came across this small business on TikTok and decided to order a few pairs. They are my holy grail. I have never been able to find glasses that are big enough for me, look good and are amazing quality. These sunnies come in two sizes (I opt for the XL) and a bunch of fantastic colors! They are polarized, durable, flexible and are 100% biodegradable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them.  — Tyler Holender, social strategist

I’m sad to report that I lost these sunglasses on vacation earlier this year — and I’m still kicking myself for it. They were originally a gift, and now I’ve been saving up to repurchase them for myself because it’s been a tough few months without them. They’re definitely a splurge, but the quality and comfort is unmatched. As someone with a low nose bridge, it’s so tricky to find sunglasses that don’t slide down. These titanium frames are virtually weightless (seriously!) and the nose pads ensure that they stay put. I wore them to the beach, hiking and just day-to-day in the city, and they never slipped. Plus, the polarized lenses have a mirrored finish that looks super cool when they catch the sunlight. — Sophie Shaw, associate beauty editor

I have literally worn these sunglasses every single summer since I was 16 (I’m now 24). I have a very small face, so it makes shopping for sunglasses extremely hard. Finding a pair that fits me and doesn’t look too big or goofy is basically impossible. When I found these sunnies, I knew they would never leave my side. They’re super lightweight and look good with every outfit. If you need a reliable and durable pair to last you years, then this is the perfect option for you. — Gabriella Triolo, social coordinator

The Dixie sunglasses from this Instagram influencer-approved brand are one of my favorites I own — and I own a lot of sunglasses. For $200 a pair, I can guarantee that these vintage-inspired sunnies are anything but flimsy, and the Cinnamon-colored lenses combined with the ultra-flattering aviator style have made these a staple in my year-round wardrobe. — Stephanie Griffin, director of social

These are the best sunglasses ever — super light and they have fantastic polarization! I only drive in these sunglasses, and they are the best in sunny weather. They make it so the sun doesn’t disturb the driving, making it safer on the road. They live in my car, but they will do great in any sunny place. — Yana Kharitonova, senior product manager

A newer addition to my collection of sunglasses, these funky frames have a unique shape and fun, pink-tinted lenses. The female-founded brand has garnered celeb fans like Hailey and Justin Bieber, and I indeed feel like a fashion influencer when I wear them. Along with oozing style, they feel sturdy and the shape lends itself to a wider nose, which means a comfortable fit for me. — Sophie Shaw, associate beauty editor

These sunglasses are perfect for warmer weather. They’re super stylish and have a bulkier look to them but feel light. I love the way that they sit, and they never irritate my skin/nose from sitting too heavily. I have had these for a couple of years now, and they’re still as good as new! — Gabriella Triolo, social coordinator
