For this reason, it’s wise to consider durable fabrics that can withstand a bit of wear and tear and therefore better protect your passport. Water-resistant materials are also beneficial, especially in passport covers which completely seal shut as that can fully shield the pages of your passport from accidental spills or splashes.
Clasps, snaps, and zippers can also up the protection as they keep your items more secure and less likely to fall out. The more items you’re storing in your passport case other than your passport, the more beneficial closure becomes.

Keep in mind that fiddling to remove the passport from the cover can slow you (and everyone behind you) down in the security line. Therefore, we recommend removing your passport from the holder when the person a few spots ahead of you is next in line.
Do I need a passport cover with RFID-blocking technology?
In short, no. The reliability of RFID-blocking technology is hard to measure since real-world skimming situations are tough to replicate in lab scenarios.
