15 ways to celebrate Passover in the Tampa Bay area

Passover is the major Jewish spring festival that runs eight days, April 22-30. The following is a list of 15 ways we’ve found to celebrate Passover in the Tampa Bay area. (Editor’s note: Events are selected from entries to our calendar that are submitted here.)

Jewish faith celebrations

Passover Services: 6:30 p.m. Monday (April 22), 10 a.m. Tuesday-Wednesday (April 23-24) and April 29-30. Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa. 813-837-1911.

Public Seder: This Seder includes handmade shmurah and matzah and wine or grape juice. No membership or background required. $55, $25 children. 7:15 p.m. April 22. Chabad of Brandon and South Shore, 11412 McMullen Road, Riverview. 917-755-4920.

First Night Community Passover Seder: All are welcome to join the Jewish Federation of Florida’s Gulf Coast for a Passover Seder led by Rabbi Lou Feldstein. Community Passover Seder: A family-friendly, easy-to-follow Seder and a meal. RSVP required. $65, $30 children. 7:30 p.m. April 22. Chabad Jewish Center, 4010 Park St. N., St. Petersburg. 727-344-4900.

Passover Seder: Gourmet Passover cuisine and an interactive Seder. $65, $30 children. 7:45 p.m. April 22. Chabad of Pinellas County, 3696 Fisher Road, Palm Harbor. 727-789-0408.

Pesach: Passover: Relive the exodus and discover the modern-day message of the Haggadah at this four-course dinner with wine and handmade matzo. $36, $25 children (reservations required). 8:15 p.m. April 22. Chabad Jewish Centre at Wiregrass, 2124 Ashley Oaks Circle, Wesley Chapel. 813-642-3244.

Passover Celebration: Celebrate the second night of Passover with a meat or vegan meal. Meat menu includes matzo ball soup, olives, carrots and celery, gefilte fish lettuce cups, beef brisket, asparagus and flourless chocolate cake. Vegan menu includes stuffed acorn squash, asparagus, salad, olives and flourless chocolate cake. Passover at the Collection: Children can tour the museum’s collection of early American automobiles and industrial engines, take a train ride, hear the Passover story and do crafts. $10. 1 p.m. Sunday (April 21). The Collection on Palmetto, 2116 Palmetto St., Clearwater. 727-530-3223.

Passover Seder: Yeshua is the Lamb of God: Temple New Jerusalem Messianic Synagogue holds this four-course kosher Passover dinner with a Seder delivered by Rabbi Michael Stepakoff. $40-$45, $20-$25 ages 5-12, 4 and younger free. 6 p.m. April 22.
