Oprah Winfrey produced this new documentary of legendary actor Sidney Poitier and his legacy as a Civil Rights leader. Interviews include Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Spike Lee and many more (AppleTV+).

SATURDAY, Sept. 24
Dr.Quinn, Medicine Woman
The hugely popular 1990s TV drama, starring Jane Seymour as a physician who leaves Boston for the Wild West, returns to streaming TV, beginning tonight with a weekend (make that “weQuinned”) marathon (noon, FETV).

Dying for a Crown
Jennifer Titus and Catherine Daddario star in this real-life drama about a young woman with a deadly determination to become homecoming queen (8 p.m., Lifetime).

SUNDAY, Sept. 25
Celebrity Jeopardy
All-new variation on the classic Q-before-A game show features famous contestants battling their brains to win money for charities of their choice (8 p.m., ABC).

Lucy Worsley Investigates
The popular British historian continues to explore some of Great Britain’s most haunting and far-reaching mysteries, including witch hunts and the country’s deadliest pandemic (8 p.m., PBS).

MONDAY, Sept. 26
Chefs Vs. Wild
Kitchen pros and survivalists vie to impress renowned chef/adventurer Kiran Jethwa and wild foods expert Valerie Segrest in competitions to turn foraged ingredients into five-course meals (Hulu).

TUESDAY, Sept. 27

The Rookie: Feds
This new cop-series spinoff stars Nicey Nash-Betts as the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy, a plotline introduced on a two-arc episode of The Rookie in that show’s fourth season. With Britt Robinson and Kevin Zegers (ABC).

Mister Harrigan’s Phone
Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martel star in this supernatural tale (based on a short story by Stephen King) about a messages “from the other side” that start coming in over an iPhone after a young boy and a reclusive billionaire meet and bond over their love of books (Netflix).

WEDNESDAY, Sept. 28
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers have art
The championship team and their coach (Lauren Graham) take to the road to attend an intense summer hockey program run by a former NHL player (Josh Duhamel), in the latest installment of this family-friendly franchise (Disney+).

Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons
Wrongfully convicted former inmate Rapael Rowe continues his investigation of notorious prisons in Bosnia, Herzegovina, Greece and Moldova (Netflix).

Minions: The Rise of Gru
Just off its theatrical fun, the latest animated comedy—about the little yellow sidekicks of the world’s most ambitious wannabe supervillain (voiced again by Steve Carell)—comes to the streaming service with an inter-generational appeal, thanks to its groovy ‘70s vibes (Peacock+).

THURSDAY, Sept. 29CSI: Las Vegas
Actress Marg Helgenberg—whose last appearance on CSI was more than a decade ago—returns to the franchise in season two of this Sin City-based spinoff as crime lab supervisor Catherine Willows persuades the team to let her back into their ranks…while hiding her secret motivation to do so (CBS).

An Amish Sin
Dylan Ratzlaff stars as an Amish teen who runs away rather than obey her parents’ command that she marry the man who abused her as a child (Lifetime).

NEW ON DVD

The hammer comes down in Thor: Love & Thunder (Disney Media Entertainment), with Chris Hemsworth returning to the role of the hunky blonde Norse god, now facing a new villain (Christian Bale) and a zippy cosmic-size existential crisis. With loads of bonus features, including goofs and gags.

Acclaimed horror director Rob Zombie's take on TV's classic monster clan, The Munsters (Universal Pictures Home Entertainment) arrives on DVD and Blu-ray with behind-the-scenes features and commentary. Watch for Jorge Garcia (from Lost and Hawaii- Five-O) and Cassandra Peterson (better known as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark!), plus cool cameos by original cast members Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) and Pat Priest (Marilyn).

AT THE MOVIES
In director Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling, a 1950s suburban housewife (Florence Pugh) begins to suspect that her utopian life with her workaholic husband (Harry Styles) isn’t what it seems.

Get your blue hue on with the theatrical re-release of Avatar, a newly remastered version of the 2009 sci-fi classic, ahead of the film’s December sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water.
