There are many reasons to be a fan of 2005's Pride & Prejudice, from the performances from Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, to the love story written by Jane Austen, to the gorgeous shots of the English countryside and the 18th century costumes. And while it's certainly a re-watchable movie, if you love Pride & Prejudice but want to try out something different, there a lot of movies that should satisfy what you're looking for.

First of all, Austen's work has been adapted a lot. Multiple film versions have been made of many of her novels, so that's one place to start. On top of that, if you're into the period piece aspect of Pride & Prejudice, there are countless movies set around the same time, including other films from the movie's director Joe Wright.

So, if you're looking to expand your horizons when it comes to love stories about people in olden times, here ya go!

Emma

Yes, there are two versions of this story on here, it's not a typo! And 1996's Emma stars Gwyneth Paltrow in the title role. This Austen book is about a spoiled young woman who considers herself a matchmaker within her early 19th century English community, but things are more complicated when it comes to her own love life. The cast also features Toni Collette, Ewan McGregor, and Alan Cumming.

Sense and Sensibility

Our next Austen adaptation is 1995's Sense and Sensibility, based on the author's first novel from 1811. Emma Thompson (who also won an Oscar for writing the screenplay) stars with Kate Winslet as the two Dashwood sisters who are forced to move out of their family home due to an inheritance issue — a classic problem in a lot of British stories set during this time. Of course, there's also romance. Their love interests are played by Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant.
