"14 Inches And Counting!"- Montana Resort Slammed With Snow

This week, winter has started properly showing face throughout the mountain West, with multiple ski resorts reporting their first major snowfalls of the season.

One such resort is Red Lodge Mountain, Montana, who, yesterday, announced that they had received 14 inches of snow "and counting!"

In the Facebook post, the resort advised against travel to Red Lodge Mountain, as the access roads were "extremely slick."

Since yesterday, the snow has continued to fall at Red Lodge Mountain. The resort's snow report website states that current conditions are "heavy snowfall."

Predictably, the webcams are looking wintry:

This is certainly a strong early-season showing for Red Lodge Mountain and could bode well for the coming winter. Although, as usual, I have to note that long-term weather patterns are finicky. Nothing is set in stone quite yet.

Red Lodge Mountain anticipates opening for skiing and riding on November 24th, so we're about a month from the resort's first day of the season. Keep those snow dances up! It looks like it's working.
