Josh O’Connor, who plays Princes Charles on The Crown, tells Glamour that Corrin was born to play the role of Princess Diana. “She has her mannerisms,” he explains. “There were countless occasions where I was halfway through a scene and I’d catch her and be like, My God, Diana’s actually here. That was very spooky.”

Cate Hall, the show’s hair and makeup designer, says Corrin’s own hair color is similar to Diana’s, so they kept her makeup as natural as possible for Diana’s younger years—as seen here in 1980. “We didn't use foundation at all for episodes one through five,” Hall reveals.
